Morning all. Had a lovely relaxing weekend away - needed it after the nightmare journey on the M25. The Memphis Belle swing band were performing on Saturday evening - excellent music.

Kerri - you are obviously feeling better as you are back to all your fitness training.

Jeferey - are you putting in these long cycle runs for a particular purpose - Tour de France maybe?

CW - really sorry to hear your bedroom saga goes on. So disappointing when you had planned what sounds a really lovely bedroom d!cor and now a mess.

    Evening all

Red I'm feeling much better thanks :D thank goodness

CW what a nightmare with the wardrobe. I know you don't want the walls painted but in the long run might it look better - perhaps the decorator could remove the paper in the alcove first? At least in an alcove being different wouldn't look so odd (as it would with a random wall). Alternatively, could you 'edge' the damaged paper with something like this (obv floor to ceiling length)

    http://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-15-5mm-Multi-Purpose-White-PVC-1000mm/p/188153?CAWELAID=120135120000002595&CAGPSPN=pla&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping%20-%20Doors%20&%20Windows&tmcampid=&tmad=c&tmplaceref=&tmcustom=mkwid|s_dc|pcrid|43364674852|kword||match||plid|

I know it's not ideal but perhaps with the traffic of the sliding doors it might actually protect the rest of the paper? Not sure how the profile would affect the doors being able to full slide open though - although then again, sliding them and whacking them against the wall isn't good anyway.

jeferey haven't heard much about the allotment recently - don't tell me you're not still getting lots of lovely veg from it? :)

Kerri - I went to allotment on Sunday and got the rest of the butternut squash. I usually go on my bike so I can't carry as much in my backpack - bloomin' heavy things :rotfl:
It's slowing down now but I still have leeks, beetroot, parsnips, carrots, rainbow chard, purple sprouts and purple cabbage :D

Red - no real reason other than I enjoy it and it keeps me fit! Glad you had a great weekend - M25 is an abbreviation for car park ;)

CW - hope you come up with a solution you're happy with.

DD1 is collecting the keys to her new house on Friday. I've hired a van and we're helping her and BF to move in on Saturday - our house is emptying fast  - gonna be quiet
They've managed to buy a 3 bed detached for their first house and got a 5 year fixed mortgage. Had a bit of help from bank of mum & dad.....

Good morning red, kerri, and Jeferey

What a miserable day it is, raining, cold and grey. The forecast is rain every day for the next 5 days too. We had wanted to mow the lawn again before the weather got too bad but at this rate it won;t get done. It needs doing as we had put some new turf down and seeded a few patches and its grown like mad.

Jeferey - you won;t need that all that room in the extension you had built at this rate, 1 DD at uni and 1 DD bought a house. You won;t know what to do with all that spare room. Your a good dad helping out with the mortgage etc, I am sure your DD appreciates it as it sounds like they have got a nice size house for their first home.

kerri - thanks for that, not seen those strips of pvc before. Will show my son later. At the moment we are waiting for the fitter to come back to fix the 2 shelves, he is due between 8 and 11 today. Got up at 5.30 to empty the cupboard. Again. Later on after its all been cleaned again we shall we fill the cupboard only to take it all out again next Tuesday for the decorator.

Red - glad you had a lovely weekend away, hope you manage to get another little holiday soon, without getting stuck in traffic for hours on end.

Good morning red, kerri and Jeferey.

Rain again here and its cold as well. Got to go shopping later, running out of bread and fruit etc.

The man came yesterday and fixed the 2 shelves in the wardrobe. Then the company rang and were after the rest of the money i owe them. I told them I will get back to them when the decorator has been. She said they want 2 quotes, I told her no. I would only have the decorator who did the room originally and he will be here next week. As if I want any more messing around. She wasn;t after offering any compensation for all the trouble though. She said her manager said for me to keep £150 back for the decorator and pay the rest but I said no.

Still don;t know how much I should ask for compensation.

Hi CW, yes that's the plan. It could take 6 months, a year or more - it always seems so slow to find their forever home.... Her foster carer got her straight from birth at hospital!

Not sure what to suggest about compo....

    Morning everyone :D

Morning all! had an early start today as had to drop OH at the airport for a business meeting today. Taken advantage of being up early to crack on with some work in the hope i can take a break in the day or finish early. They are cutting trees at the front of the house atm (well its actually houses behind but the trees are easier for them to access from our road if that makes sense) Wonder if they might do ours for gratis at the same time? :D

jeferey just think people pay for things like exercise with heavy back packs and you're getting it for free with your butter nut squash :D All my (few) veg finished now but I do have some apples chopped in the freezer from Freecycle ready for crumbles. How exciting about a new FB, you really are amazing for doing that.

CW frankly I would refuse to pay any more and speak to CAB about getting a full refund. The company did not complete what they were initially contracted to do - they made the wrong fittings initially, did what sounds like a bit of a botch job to rectify it, did not carry out the service to leave the area clean as per the contract and on top of that have caused damage to your property which cannot be 100% rectified to your satisfaction. Add in the inconvenience and emotional distress caused by all of this and i would think you have a case for the small claims court.

Morning Kerri (thanks :) ) and CW

Bit miserable here today, hoping for not a lot of rain over the weekend to make the moving out easier. Took DD1's bed downstairs and put it in the garage last night in preparation - she had to sleep in DD2's bed! Filled up her boot so she can pick up the keys and take the first load of stuff across this afternoon. Got all the important stuff like kettle, teabags, mugs, etc. ;)

I agree Kerri - you shouldn't pay any more money CW, hope you get it sorted soon.
