    Evening CW and Kerri :D

Thanks CW, we'll try! :) Hope the blind fitter did a good job. I ways remember when we had blinds fitted in the conservatory by "Bill the Blind man" - he did an amazing job considering - well, made me laugh anyway
I've used the newly partially tiled and regrouted shower twice today as I went for a little bike ride to a local bike shop and the allotment this afternoon (only 5.5 miles). My injured side wasn't too bad but I've got a nice bruise at base of ribs and another very colourful one a bit further down :p:rotfl:

Kerri - hope the cream and steroids works quickly....
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat :D

    Good morning kerri and Jeferey

Ooh, those bruises sound painful Jeferey, but it could have been a lot worse I guess. Hope the shower room was ok, no more leaks.

My ds fell getting out of the shower 2 weeks ago and had a few nice bruises to his hip and side. Not too bad really as he banged his head on the wall and that slowed his fall down a bit. lol.

The blinds were fitted and are nice, he didn;t take long as it was only 2 bedrooms that were being done and he didn;t make a mess.

The fitter has just turned up to do the bedroom. Hope its ok when done this time.

    Still not a happy bunny

The fitter brought the correct doors and fitted them. Yes, but to take the old ones out he has ripped my wallpaper. He had put a thin layer of sealant, said its similar to decorators caulk around the first doors so when he had to take the frame out he has slightly damaged the wallpaper all the way round incl the ceiling. He also has scratched the ceiling about a foot away from the unit, thats about a metre long scratch. The rest of the damage is about half an inch all the way round virtually. He said just get a bit of emulsion to hide the damage. What........... I had already warned them the decorating was done by a proper decorator and if they damaged it they could pay for the repairs.

Then he was supposed to fit a full size top shelf but didn;t want to. Said he felt it looked better with a half size shelf. I had to moan at him to get him to cut the shelf to the right width and my son would put it in if he wanted to. Which he did and its fine. The fitter was just being awkward.

Then to the 2 shelves that he was supposed to sort some supports out for, he didn;t do it. Said he hasn;t been sent any supports so if the company wants it doing they can pay him to come back but he is off on holiday on Monday anyway.

Left us to clean up as previous. It took ages to vacuum the sawdust up etc as it blows and gets walked everywhere.

So got to speak to the company again on Monday.

Hope your both having a better weekend than me.

Morning all. I have been following all your activities although not posting for ages.

CW - What a to-do you have had. I suggest you take photos of all the damage (as this will strengthen your claim) and write to the company with all the facts. I'm sure you would like to tell them what you really think but perhaps just listing each problem will make them realise what a dreadful experience you have had. Probably best to send a letter rather than email & make sure you send it recorded so they can't argue it didn't arrive. Give them say 7 days to reply.

Does the company belong to any trade organisation as that could be another route to take? Or, of course, trading standards might be interested as they could be known to them for sub-standard work.

We have recently had problems with some work done and it can take time to reach a resolution so I wish you luck with this one.

    Afternoon kerri, Jeferey and red.

Nice to hear from you red, how are things with you.

We emailed the wardrobe company this morning and sent loads of photos, think they were a bit shocked tbh. Luckily my son took loads of pics during and after the work was done.

They have arranged for someone to come and check it out, he is due shortly. The is a very big company and the cupboards have a 10 year guarantee. I owe them some money so they will be wanting it but won;t get any more money till all the issues have been dealt with.

Will let you all know how I get on.

Good morning kerri, Jeferey and red, if your around.

The man from the wardrobe company came and had a look at the work. Told me to get a written quote for the re-decorating and send it in. He said he will sort out something to stop the shelves bending. Hope that will be this week but not holding my breath.

Isn;t it cold atm. My central heating goes on a few times a day now so bills are increasing unfortunately.

    Hope your all well.

Sounds as though the company have accepted you have a problem which is good. Hope they keep up with it so you soon have the bedroom the way you were expecting.

It's really autumnal here - misty, grey overcast and been raining overnight. We put our heating on earlier this month and it is programmed to come on twice a day. Our house is well insulated and holds the heat well. I just slip on a fleece gilet if I am sitting around and start feeling chilly.

We switched to the recent MSE tariff which hopefully will keep our cost about the same as previously.

We are off for the weekend to Warners Littlecote - will miss all the kids knocking for Halloweon handouts! We went to another Warners last month for 4 days and didn't move off the grounds. It was just what we needed - to relax, be feed well and entertained.

I would really love to be able & go somewhere hot for a week or so but travel insurance is impossible to get when you are on a waiting list & for us now the price is high. Oh the joys of getting old!

The decorator is coming later to see if he can do anything he can do to correct the damaged wallpaper etc.

It turned out lovely yesterday, warmish and sunny and bright. So nice even my dh cleaned the car, and swept the drive etc. My ds took rubbish to the tip and they both did some tidying up jobs outside. Today is the opposite, rain, grey, clouds and cold. Got my heating on to warm the bathroom for everyone to get their showers.

Travel insurance can be so expensive red when you have health problems. Hope your dh is ok.
