Afternoon CW and Kerri (great tip about the piping bag) :D

Well the shower saga continues. I found a slow drip in the toilet on the ground flower directly underneath the en-suite which suggested it wasn't just the grout :(. DW had got some of the grout out and I had a go at remainder last night. After I'd got 6 tiles off, I found a small leak on one of the pipes so telephoned plumber again and he's coming back tomorrow. Well at least we've found the problem! Boiler man came today, all signed off, no problems phew!

I reckon it's getting close to the time when I put the washing line away, nothing much drying now even when it's sunny, boo.....

    Good morning kerri and Jeferey

another sunny dry day ahead but its so cold. My neighbour put washing out yesterday at breakfast time, but don;t think it dried. I have a rotary washing line so it goes away and only comes out when I hang washing out.

Still busy sorting and unpacking stuff that has been boxed up for months.

Jeferey, great that your boiler was ok but what a pain re the leak. Hope you managed to get the tiles off undamaged and no more need removing to fix the leak. What has caused the leak behind the tiles, your en-suite is pretty new isn;t it.

Hope it gets fixed quickly anyway without any damage to anything else.

    Morning CW and Kerri :D

Little bit warmer here, it was 10°C (or 50°F in old money ;) ) this morning when we got to work. Haven't bothered with a coat, I get too warm when I go for a power walk at lunchtime!

I don't tend to put the washing line away but in the winter I fold it up and put a proper cover on it. Now you've mentioned it CW I might take it out as it's fairly new and put it in the summer house and stick something over the post to stop water getting in.

Hi CW, just missed your post yesterday! No, the en-suite is pretty old now, it was the first one we re-did after we moved in in 1994, so we probably renewed it a few years after that.
The pipe had corroded and the plumber said it was because nothing had been put over it before the plasterboard was put on. Nearly 20 years can't be that bad!
Anyway, he's replaced both pipes so no more leak and it's only cost us £50. Just need to get a new piece of plasterboard and put tiles back - need to find a few similar ones to replace the ones I damaged :(, re-grout, etc :p

    Good morning kerri and Jeferey

I put some washing out yesterday and as it was fairly nice considering its October it almost dried. Finished it off indoors and all put away now. Going to put some more out in a while and hope it dries even a bit.

Jeferey, I thought it was the new en-suite from when you had the extension built. £50 for the plumber was cheap, hope you manage to find some tiles to finish the work.

Right, must get that washing out now.

    Evening all!

Sorry about the leak jeferey but at least you've found it - do I need to come round with my tiling kit? :D We had a small leak up in the loft last year, it was a joint that had been corroded by blue coloured flush they used to put through the pipes ...slight flaw in it being that any residue tends to corrode pipework over time....

Lovely day here though I didn't have any washing that needed to be put out to dry.

They must've been cutting the fields / grass nearby as the cat has been in full hunt mode today - found one field mouse on the patio earlier (now been handed over to the worms unfortunately) and we've just rescued another that was hiding on a leaf from her (clever mouse) OH managed to get mog in and mouse has made off, so we've been distracting mog with ham so she doesn't go back out (we don't have a cat flap so can't get out on her own anyway)

Got a busy weekend in some respects but no gardening planned as such :D Thought I deserved a weekend off.

On the subject of washing lines - we don't have one - I just put the airer outside. Keep thinking about getting one but OH does't like them so I'd have to keep putting it up / taking it down if not in use.

    Good morning kerri and Jeferey

kerri, I don;t like washing lines like your oh. I hate that they take over a garden with a path underneath them, just spoils the garden by cutting it in half. But I like my rotary dryer. We only put it out when needed and then its taken in again so I don;t have to look at it. When we did the garden years ago we had the washing posts and the path taken up so we have a bigger lawn now, looks much better.

Its so cold atm, needed the heating on a few times yesterday.

    Have a good weekend guys

Morning, err, afternoon all. Just back from a friends for breakfast...it's how people in their thirties do house parties we decided :rotfl:

cw I must admit when I think of washing lines, I think of rotary driers, prob because that's what my mum had when I grew up. We don't have any lawn at the back so it wouldn't spoil that and I could put one up / take it down I guess, just another thing to then keep in the shed which is already quite full...we'll see.

Funnily enough we have a washing line support in the shed which we've had for years. I bought it when we shared a house and it was needed for the line at the back (ll too tight to supply hot water or sort out the mice infestation so wasn't going to pay for a line support) so when we moved out.....I took it with us :rotfl::o just never needed it since then but loathed to get rid 'just in case'. The line that came with it is in the toolbox so I could prob fix it up but easier to get a rotary one if need be.

Sorry, that's a lot of talk about washing lines......

More talk of washing lines. :rotfl:When we got rid of our washing line I kept my "prop" just in case it was ever needed. :rotfl:

Lovely sunny day here, bet it would dry my washing so gonna have a hunt around for what can be shoved in the machine. The sun has warmed us up a bit too, it was so cold yesterday and the sky was grey so nice to see the sun tody.

kerri, so its not "ladies who do lunch" its now "ladies who do breakfast" :rotfl:
