Wow CW, was it solid gold :eek::eek: - remind me not to want a new bathroom soon. Everything seems to cost soooo much money. We're having a new front door (black composite), existing upvc one is nearly 20 years old and playing up. Under £700 from a local firm, actually cheaper than on-line places.
Afternoon to you and Kerri :D

Your post asking if there was a thread was moved here to the chat thread, as you have decided to start a thread its probably best if you put them on a separate post on this board so more people will get to see them.
    Thanks

    Good morning kerri and Jeferey

Jeferey that front door price sounds ok. Better than my bathroom quote anyway. lol.

Spoke to my sister and she said that quote of mine sounds about right for a bathroom, I must be so out of touch as that to me sounds outragious. It didn;t even include new radiators as I couldn;t decide if I wanted heated towel rails. So all it is for is new toilet, sinks and taps, bath taps (keeping old bath), shower cucible, new tiles and plastering, new light fittings and moving the shower on/off switch and floor covering and labour and odds and ends like grout etc. We are keeping the same floor layout as have now so no pipes to be moved. Well, I think its outrageous anyway.

Evening all, jeferey any more pics like that and I will be forced to unsubscribe from this thread :p:rotfl: think my toms are now done, too cold for any remaining fruit to ripen. Still I've got a good stash of frozen runners (partly thanks to OH veg box win as much as my home grown ones) , a Tom of blackberries in the freezer to use up and s draw of windfall apples from free cycle (though some the lady gave me we're actually mouldy, I'm sure some hardened :money: might have done something with them but I'm afraid those ones have gone in the compost bin) so I'm not doing too badly.

cw ouch to the bathroom costs. I guess it's all labour that adds up. Would it be any cheaper to buy what you need and get someone local to fit it? I'm very good at tiling now, and very reasonable if you throw in a few boxes of Surf too :D

Glad it's the weekend, weather here was lovely today, getting colder even in the sun but not a cloud in the sky. Got some gardening panmed for Sunday as it might be the last decent weekend before you need thermals to get out and some cooking - eeeeeeee it's just like t'good life here :rotfl:
    happy weekend all xx

Meant to say, skimmed the fat off the stock and potted it up for the freezer. It wasn't nice and clear like Jamie O had suggested (looked just like chicken gravy lol) but I had a little taste and it was yummy, so seemed to be worth the effort. Phew! Cat got some on her food too as a treat and lapped it up. So it's all ready for a casserole or risotto (actually quite fancy making a risotto for a change....hmmm....goes off to ponder that one...)

    Good morning kerri and Jeferey

I am not a happy bunny.

I have had my bedroom done this last few months, replastered, painted, decorated etc. All good so far. On Thursday the fitter came to fit my new wardrobes, it was a 2 day job. First day we noticed he had fitted the wrong handles to the drawers so we had to phone up and complain (as he wouldn't) and they said they would change them for the right ones when he came back Friday. All sorted so I thought ok, it happens.

Yesterday morning he was fitting the sliding doors and we weren;t happy as they were the wrong flippin size. The fitter agreed it didn;t look right but carried on. I phoned up, emailed pictures, phoned again and they agreed, they sent the wrong size sliding doors, sliding door frame etc and it all has to be re done. It will be 2 weeks before they can get the doors to the fitter as well but more worrying is all the frame is fastened to my newly decorated wall, the carpet is being fitted today and I do not want to put up with the mess the fitter left again. He was supposed to leave us spick and span, thats what they advertise, wrong........ He didn;t even have a vacuum cleaner. He put a cloth on the landing which got covered in dust, sawdust etc, my bedroom was a right state as he just swept the floors. On Thursday and again Friday my ds spent over 2 hours vacuuming the floors, skirtings, wiping the windowsill, wiping the cupboards out. Leaving it for a while for dust to settle and then redoing it all. How can he do it all again when I will have a new carpet and furniture in. The room had to be emptied for them to do the wardrobes but I am not emptying it again. I am so upset and annoyed, I went for a so called reputable company to avoid problems and this is not the service they advertise.

so not a happy bunny today.

kerri, I am going to ask B&Q for a quote to see what there prices are like. The shop who gave me a quote didn;t give me a breakdown on costs so dont know how much is labour and how much parts. I am not paying that for a new bathroom, thats ridiculously high.

My neighbours cat likes chicken fat. I had a cup on the kitchen windowsill full of the fat of the chicken, waiting for it to cool and the cat sneaked in and was lapping it up. Naughty cat. lol.
