Morning CW and Kerri, my, that was a lot of talk about washing lines :rotfl:
Hope you've both had a good weekend.
Shower hole now plaster-boarded and plastered. It was nearly dry yesterday so I've arranged for next door neighbour to tile it for me today - great bloke to know! I'll be glad when it's sorted as I had a shower in bathroom and managed to slip and bash my side on the handle on the side of the bath - ouch - still hurts this morning but I don't think I broke any ribs.
I managed to do another 50 mile bike ride Sunday morning, set off just before 7am and it took me just under 3 hoursIf at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0 -
Good morning CW and Kerri
Shower now tiled. I put some extra grout on last night so just waiting for it to set and then it's in action again!
Side still hurting but on the mend.
Sunny but cooler this morning, forecast rain tomorrow - boo....If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0 -
Evening all! Wow, 50 miles jeferey that's amazing, well done! Sounds like your tiling took less time than mine, though at least you knew / your neighbour knew what they were doing. Glad the slip in the bath wasn't too serious.
Started off miserable and grey here today but turned fine and sunny by lunch, in fact I met a friend for coffee and we sat out in the sun, it was almost too hot. Can't complain about that.
Did you enjoy the little chats about washing lines then jeferey? Next week we're covering various styles of clothes airers :rotfl:
Feels like it's been a long week already - bleugh. Hey ho - hump day tomorrow. Hope you're both having a good evening.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Good morning kerri and Jeferey
Well they don;t call this the drivel thread for nothing, so ok kerri, next week its clothes airers.:rotfl::rotfl:
glad you bathroom has been sorted Jeferey, you have done well to get it sorted so quickly. Hope your bruises from your slip go quickly.
I still haven;t got a plumber to do my bathroom. Not been looking tbh as wanted to get my bedroom finished. The fitter is supposed to be coming back on Friday. Well it should have been today but I phoned on Monday and got conflicting info about when he will get my new sliding doors. One person said Wednesday, then got told Friday by someone else. The fitter was supposed to phone me yesterday to confirm but hasn;t so looks like I have to chase them again.
The Blinds fitter has to do them on Friday afternoon as he is going on holiday so can;t put it back anymore. Just hope the wardrobe fitter doesn;t make as much mess as he did last time.
My ds has to paint the windowsill today in my bedroom, the fitter scratched and scuffed it last time putting his stupid tools and tool box on it.
All this messing over my wardrobes has really annoyed me. I want compo for my trouble but not sure how much to ask for. They haven;t lived up to their promises at all.

Afternoon Kerri and CW, yup, this is definitely the drivel thread :rotfl:
Thanks Kerri, it hurts if I cough or open a door to fast but it could have been worse! I went for at lunchtime today as usual but didn't need a coat - lovely, sunny and warm
That's a real pain CW, I wouldn't know where to start about compo but a well worded letter to them might pay dividends. We complained once when we had cavity wall insulation done and got them to pay to decorate an interior wall they damaged which resulted in enough paint to redecorate the conservatory and another time we got a new springy base for the trampoline when some scaffolders put one of there poles right through the old duff one!
I've only got one more day at work then off for 10 days - woohoo :jIf at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0 -
Ohhh that's nothing to what i can drivel about!
CW I would list out exactly what you have had to do because of the mess up - and include the time spent cleaning when the guy didn't do it before. That will give you a start of extra tasks that had to be done either because the service was below par, or failed completely. I would calculate per hour what that would have been for a professional and use that as a start point, plus a % for emotional distress. Perhaps post on Praise, Vent, Warnings and see if anyone can help. I would however hold off until the job is complete so you can send a complete claim. And if they don't make a reasonable offer, look at claiming for Breach of Contract - speak to CAB.
Glad you're on the mend jeferey I'd suggest not opening doors quickly atm then
Well nothing exciting to report here - except I have hives, actually went to the docs today who gave me strong steroids (I virtually never go to the doc) and I currently look like I need a good dose of FrontlineFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Good morning kerri and Jeferey
Sorry your still in pain Jeferey, but if you take it easy while your off work it should get better. But knowing you it will be a couple of bike rides and a few days at the allotment. lol.
Where on earth did you get the hives kerri. Have you been running in any long grass and something has bit you. Hope the sores go soon, are they terrible itchy as well.
Re my wardrobes. The fitter didn;t ring, again, to confirm he is coming tomorrow so yet again I have to phone them. He was supposed to ring me on Monday, then Tuesday and so on. Made over a dozen phone calls to sort out their errors. Also a couple of emails. Had to have the windowsill repainted as the fitter scuffed the new paintwork. Then each day my ds spent over 2 hours vacuuming/ cleaning and my dyson was half full of sawdust which blocked the filters, luckily I had already bought a spare for when it needed changing. I had to delay the man who was to fit the vertical blinds but he has to do them tomorrow as he is going on holiday next week. Then the stress and upset of having this messing around, living out of boxes as we couldn;t put much in the wardrobes as we knew they had to come out. All in all it wasn;t the pleasant, easy experience it should have been and what they advertise. They say there fitters are house trained and will leave your home spick and span. What a joke.
Anyway enough of my moaning.
Have a good day guys. It rained here all day yesterday without a break. Today looks dry so far but so cold.

Thanks Kerri. Ouch the hives sounds painful, I get nettle stings sometimes at the allotment and they're bad enough. Get well soon.
You're probably right CW :rotfl:, the pain in easing now, slept a bit better. Great advice from Kerri regarding your wardrobe hassle. You must be nearing the end now then you can get back to normal. Very windy here this morning but it's worse further North apparently. We're not forecast any more rain until Saturday. Typical - DW and I are off to Newark for the day!
Morning everyoneIf at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0 -
Evening all!
CW sorry to hear you still haven't seen the light at the end of the tunnel with the wardrobes, I empathise with how frustrating it must be.
Glad you're feeling a little less sore jeferey - my word we're a sorry bunch on this thread at the moment.
The hives I believe are an ongoing reaction to a deodorant i had a reaction against - ironically one that is supposed to be good to the skin. You're right it's certainly itchy and unpleasant - the steroids are starting to help a bit but I am currently slathered in calamine and aloe vera like a small child with chicken pox.I have emailled the company and they want to discuss it further so that's positive at least.

Good morning kerri and Jeferey
Hope the hives are going down now kerri. Cant believe a deodorant did that, you must be allergic to one of the ingredients in it so it can;t be that kind to your skin. Hope you can find out which ingredient so you know to avoid it in future.
It was very windy here yesterday Jeferey but at least it didn;t rain. Hope you have a good day out with your DW. If it rains you will have to go in a nice tea shop or something.
After 4 phone calls yesterday the fitter isn;t coming today after all. He will try and come tomorrow morning so I have to rearrange what I was doing tomorrow to today (only shopping) so got to get up and out as the blind fitter is coming this afternoon. I can;t put him off again as he is going on holiday tomorrow.
Take care guys
