We had a lovely warm day yesterday here Kerri...
No rain here this morning either CW but cloudy most of the day. Went to allotment this morning then spent a couple of hours in the greenhouse with FD sowing some more seeds.
DD1's 20th today. Dropping her and boyfriend off at pub soon to see all her mates :)
Enjoy the rest of the break everyone :D

Some of the housework tackled today, wash out to dry and caught some YS reductions in M&S when I popped into town - so dinner tonight was dressed crab, boiled spuds and layered veg (well, I certainly wouldn't buy dressed crab at full price lol!). Very nice it all was too. Prob got a little bargain blind and bought a little more than I needed but will work my way through it over the next couple of days (the cat might get the chicken I bought)

Day out in the garden tomorrow - looking forward to it.

Couple of hours at the allotment again then a lovely lunchtime meal out or DD1 followed by a bit of a sit in the garden in the sun - excellent!

Time for a glass of vino methinks ;)

lovely day here, little bit of a lazy start but then excavated round the pond (found a whole corner section I hadn't realised was there as the pebbles that were prev surrounding the pond had had a bit of a landslide) then OH broke up the slate we got from freegle (old roof tiles and a couple of larger bits) and I put that all round the pond instead of stoney dirt that was there before. Lawn at the front got the first mow of the year, as well as a good rake, the hedge got a trim and everything got a bit of a tidy (all those winter leaves etc). Still a few bits to do in the garden (isn't there always) and I need to get my beans sown before its too late - HOW is it April already?

Happy Easter all! Just doing some dinner for me and OH (neither of us can be bothered to go out so chilled evening in, might make him watch X-Men) dinner courtesy of YS M&S.

Good morning guys and Happy Easter Monday to you all.

Sounds as though you have all been busy the last couple of days. Yesterday was foggy here till lunchtime and damp and its the same today. Can only just see the bottom of my garden. lol.

Went to look around a car boot yesterday, but it was really quiet, didn;t buy anything either then home and made a lovely roast beef dinner.

My garden is just too damp to mow still, but if we manage to keep rain free a couple more days just might get it done, that will be the first mow of the year for me.

We are going to move onto decorate another bedroom next week so keeping busy. Want a new blind yet for my ds's bedroom, not been able to get out much as I am coughing for England due to my chest infection, but went to one shop on Saturday and he wanted £155 for one blind. No chance I am paying that so hope this week to get around a bit more and find a cheaper one.

So enjoy the rest of your weekend guys, hope the weather stays fine wherever you are.

    CWxx

Sorry to hear your chest is still bad CW I seem to have a sore throat lingering atm and am slightly snotty again, better not be getting that cold back again - I have a break from boot camp for a month so hopefully a break from such early mornings will keep it at bay.

Also sorry to say its gorgeous and sunny and heading towards a barmy 15 degrees here today. We have the patio doors open and its lovely to get a breeze through the house.

Thoroughly enjoying having a long weekend, deff needed the break. Have an extra day off tomorrow, sadly for a funeral but I hope to do a little but of baking in the afternoon afterwards.

Hope you're not all to sick from Easter chocolate! :EasterBun

    Good morning guys

Woke up to thick fog again, thats 4-5 mornings in a row and its so damp. No wonder I have a bad chest. It didn;t shift till almost lunchtime yesterday either so was late putting the washing out.

Its also stopping the lawn drying out and it really does need mowing. Just hope it clears earlier today and we will see if the garden can be done. I walked on the lawn yesterday and you sunk into it, not nice at all.

Sorry about the funeral kerri, was it a relative or friend. x

It was a friend CW, not unexpected but still sad. Good turnout though. I didn't go to the do after (OH has) so came home and been pottering a bit.

Sunny here again today (sorry :o) so flitting between washing, baking and enjoying the sun with a cuppa in the garden. Back to work tomorrow though, still it pays the bills so mustn't grumble.

Hope it dries up for you soon and you manage to get the lawn mowed, frustrating when you can see it needs doing but can't get to it isn't it.

Cinnamon buns baked - half with sultanas and half with choc chips - could do with a bit more cinnamon IMO so did a cinnamon glaze too. Prob my spices that need a refresh.

also moved from soft reed plants in the pond (think our pond is a lot shallower than I thought, will have to measure - anyone got any good tips for getting rid of some of the gunk at the bottom? Prob not a great time to do it now I guess as we so have frogs in the pond. Poor soft reed has always looked a bit poorly - no wonder when it's trying to grow through the pond cover - so I moved it into two clumps at the sides where there is a bit of a gap, hopefull it will recover now. Also want to get a few more plants for the pond but would like to stick to native ones if poss (perhaps with the exception of a dwarf lily or two).

Also planted a few runner bean seeds (thought of you Jeferey when I did it, not quite an allotment though lol) Found a couple of propagator pots I'd got at the end of last summer in the 99p store sale so used those. Going to plant some more in a few weeks and so on (assuming these have sprouted) to try and spread the harvest.

Back to work tomorrow, just getting into this holiday lark too.

Good morning kerri and anyone else around.

Sad about your friend but glad he had a good send off.

The fog lifted around 12 ish so my dh and ds got the mower out and did the lawn as best they could. Its better than it was though and looks a good bit tidier as it was really straggly in places.

I got 3 big bags of bark chippings from asda for £10 so they put that in the borders for me to keep weeds down. Will get some more next time i go shopping as well. Still needs a good bit of work doing to tidy up the borders but at least its looking a bit better.

Your cinnamon buns sound nice, do you eat them warm ?
