We could run riot Solway! But maybe it's a bit hot (and I'm a bit too old and I was never a rebel anyway).
Curtains ironed and put back up. I've been in there painting one wall too which was a bit marked. That was after moving out the last few bits and vacuuming behind furniture. That was sobering.
Cooking lunch now, after that I reckon the rest of the washing will probably be dry so I'll get that put away before I sit down again.0 -
Hi all just been catching up a little on the thread but not all of it.
Not had a great few days here in any respect but hoping things will improve.
Decided to go back to basics and have done all sinks and toilets.
Planning on just getting tidy and straight this weekend with the hope of flying a little next week but have quite a bit of work on and the school fete next weekend.
AnW'sMum - I am glad your service went well and have so much admiration for you.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'm trying to keep myself busy as then I don't start thinking about anything. I feel justified now in not putting the washing in this morning, as it's now raining. So if I had, it would have been on the line and getting wet !!
lil_me - apparently my sister is getting her a tree. I got some seeds from Wilkinsons which could be planted in June, and they were 1/2 price - bonus !! I also got a Father's Day card for my step-dad. I have never got him one before, when they first got married we really didn't get on, it's only in the past 5 years or so that we have.
I've pulled all the boxes of stuff that needs selling / freecycling / charity shop etc out and it's now in my study. I think I'm going to need to do something about that after lunch, and sort into into boxes of what is going where.
Anw'sMum - glad the service went well.
lil_me - have a great holiday
dustykitten - hope things improve for you soon.
tracyg - another perfectionist virgo here too
Right time to spend another 10 mins sorting through the stuff in the lounge before lunch is cooked.Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0 -
Michelle's starting the list tomorrow night, seems easier then she can edit it. Bit silly me doing first post then not being able to edit it.
Phew! I don't think I'm in the mood for rioting either, pollybear. Thanks for the over 40's hug Dustykitten. hee hee.
It's taken nearly an hour to mow, including the bits outside of the fence that the council keep weed killing even though there's no weeds. There's a foot wide burnt grass 'border' and they strimmed into oblivion the front bank that I did 2 days previously, carefully going round the lovely Snow in Summer plants. Gone! I'll have to check with my landlord.
Spotted lots of dry dead branches on the way round, free fuel for my fire bowl !(still in its box since my birthday at the start of May). Off to hack and gather.
Keep at it folks. Just don't tell me your sunbathing wireless. (Gloaters :rotfl: )One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400

Maybe go to the Springwatch thing on Southampton Common tomorrow
Shirley if you do let me know. PM me for my mobile number if you like. We hope to go to. Maybe we could have an ice cream rather than a cuppa!...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

AnW's mum agree that the service sounded really lovely, and a comfort to you.
solway if it makes you feel better i have the wireless connection but i couldn't possibly sit in the garden without feeling very ill from the hayfever. I feel ill now and i only popped out briefly for hanging washing out.
Can tick a few of the smaller jobs off, but i am not really getting anywhere with the bigger ones. It's far too hot to be hoovering or scrubbing, but looking at the calories burned doing the hosuework, no wonder i am needing another hole putting in my belt. Wondered why i was losing weight, although DH reckons its cos Charlie ends up eating at least a 1/4 of every meal.
I am not looking forward to my packing next weekend. I have taken the step of putting the cats in the cattery from Friday, cos by the time we have been to the wedding on the Saturday and stopped overnight, i don't want to be stressing about them, and they could jump into the case wherever i put it. Tha't why i have started this week, cos packing is the worst part of the hols. Thanks to your list lil-me, cos its reminded me that DH will need to do things with the camera and camcorder to make sure they are ready to take.
Anyway, going to try and do a bit more marking while Charlie is watching his sign language DVD
Michelle, x0 -
Moved DVDs to newly emptied shelves in spare room.
Moved my books to shelves where DVDs used to be.
Filled up "my" shelves with books that were double stacked etc.
Vacuumed round more furniture.
I'm am so hot I don't know what to do with myself. What a stupid day to do all this!
Oh, and I've put all the washing away.

Sat here in the garden with a Magnum icecream, heavenly. Not for long however still lots to do, going to cross off in a mo & see what's left to do. Had a panic before as couldn't find the vets cards for the dogs, I had this fear I had left them at the vets (they can't go into kennels without them!) Eventually found them where I thought they were and first looked (but not well enough of course) PHEW!
Right, annoyed with weather forecast now, it was saying rain and more rain, now it's saying sunny. Right well we'll just have to pack waterproofs and shorts
Michelle I am usually done before now, this year have staggered a bit but still made a start with list etc last week, pleased I did aswell. Our dogs are in kennels from tomorrow rather than dashing about Monday morning, we can dash about tomorrow instead! So much hassle just for 5 days, days like today I begin to wonder if it's worth the hassle and stress! One day I might be more organised...........

It will defiinitely be worth it. I just don't think anyone else realises the level of work that goes into packing for their hols. I mean, kids and DH's, what do they actually pack?
The kids may grab a few toys, and the DH's grab bikes/tennis rackets/any other rubbish they want to take, and check the car before you leave, but otherwise, don't see what goes into it. And if you don't remember everything that they want, god forbid! How did you not know they wanted x, y and z by telepathy? What you mean we are only humble women? I've definitely noticed its harder since having Charlie as i need to remember everything we might vaguely need for him which is hard with iffy weather and still needing to make bottles up and stuff. Glad we didn't book a foreign trip, as without DH's estate car we would struggle to fit it all in.
Good luck with the rest of it. Sounds like you have a plan anyway, which is half the battle.

:rotfl: DP takes care of the sat nav, that's about it :rotfl: I know exactly what you mean, when I forget something there is hell on but he doesn't do any of it. He brings the bikes in the day before we go of course as doesn't like leaving them in the shed. Oh and dictating what food the kids can have in his car (hence he's pleased the pastrys gone off I just have to think of something else to do with the sausage meat  ) As for the kids, usually I pack their books etc but this time I have said if you don't do it yourself you won't have any, seems to have worked
They haven't gone OTT yet but will have to search them on the way out the door of course!
I wonder if he'd be shocked if he got there without any clothes at allor dirty ones, sooooo tempting! Saying that then it'd cost me aswell, it's only me that saves for holidays etc, if I relied on him it'd be all on credit cards etc.
One day I might be more organised...........
