You're not both Virgo perfectionists by any chance are you?!

I am! Boy, is it a pain sometimes:rotfl:

I love that there is a good mix of age ranges on here, I'm only in my mid 20's and have been married for almost 3 years and have a LO although DH is older than me. Most of my friends are older than me so feel very 'at home' here. Don't worry though, I started very young and still managed to have my hell raising/party years before I settled down:eek: :o

Anyway, not really sure why I'm posting except to say Morning and I'm here for the weekend. Don't really have a to do list this weekend, for once the house is all done, DH is out for most of the day so just me and munchkin. IL's are off walking so want to take the dogs are they've just lost theirs and miss walking with one so are borrowing others so I don't have to rush back for them. Not sure what I'm up to today, need to have a think about Fathers Day so might pop to a garden centre for my dad and FIL pressies. Need to load some photos up and order at some point. Right, catch you later, enjoy your day and your sunshine if you've got any!

    Morning Flyers!
Guess i must burn the midnight oil then, as i am back. Been up about an hour. Charlie and DH both still asleep. I woke with my hayfever, but then thought something might be wrong with Charlie as he hasn't made a peep, but when i checked in on him he was absolutely fine, asleep on his tummy with the dummy going in and out like maggie simpson. Must start thinking about hiding it as he is getting far to attached to it.

Thought i'd let you all know i'm 28 too, although like lil-me, feel about 90 at the moment. I'm not a virgo though. I'm an Aries, and i like things just so and get very mardy when they are not.

Anyway, sounds like DH may be stirring, so Charlie probably won't be far behind with the way he clods around in the morning. So here is my list, and lets hope the sunshine lasts a little bit longer today so we can enjoy it:

    Morning everyone

What a week it's been, a real emotional roller coaster here.

Wednesday night went really well :) we had picture memory boards up all round church, also had a slide show running off a laptop onto a large screen at the front. Pics from when DH was little to the most recent ones.

There were over 100 people there which was fantastic to see and very humbling. I got up to give and almost couldn't read out my words for the tears but I took several deep breaths and did it, even got applause at the end! Dad read DD's prayer which included 'He was great at catching baddies. He was the best Dad ever....I hope you will let him listen to Status Quo.....we send Dad lots of love and kisses. Amen'

A lot of tears and smiles all round. It was a really positive thing, and the Quo track was great, DS who is 4 started dancing at the front so I joined him :D Someone said 'I've never been to a memorial service, I didn't know what to expect' and replied that neither had I!

Felt emotionally drained on Thursday and things caught up with me that night but I am so pleased we did it, just feels odd now that a year has passed already.

Went to work yesterday and we had scones, jam and cream at 'tea' time lol what a sight we must have looked sat on the counter with tea and scones!

And then to top it all off my friends BF took me for a flight in his gyrocopter last night around York. The views were great although I did start to feel travel sick which rather spoilt it but so long as I take a kwell tablet I would love to go again another time.

So whilst I have been flying it was not quite the house work kind and boy does it show!!!!! I am to put that to rights (ok start putting it to rights) next week.

Hugs to all of you for thinking of us this week, lil_me I hope you have a great hol, michelle will keep us all on the straight and narrow I am sure.

Hope everyone else has a great weekend.

AnW'sMum - thanks for letting us know how it went, so pleased that it went well for you and your family. Well done for getting up and speaking, my sister gave a tribute at my cousins funeral in Jan, I couldn't even think of doing it and DH said he'd do it but was so upset he couldn't speak so you did brilliant, amazing. Sounds like you've really made your DH proud! As for the flying the house can wait, relax and enjoy your weekend and family xx

It sounds like a very special occasion AnW'sMum. Glad it went so well.

    Morning all

Two loads of washing on line, including curtains from spare room.

Six boxes of stuff put up in the loft. I need another box to finish off so that probably won't be today.

Need to polish curtain rail before curtains go back up and generally dust and vacuum bits I can get to now. It's only a small rooom which makes it small to clean but awkward to get round in. Should get on with it before it gets any hotter.
  • I just got my niece the cutest present. She's into gardening, apparently she said she wanted a tree for her birthday. Tesco at home had these little wooden carry-all things with a trowel and fork, glooves, seeds etc. So cute :) Am going to get her some extra seeds to go with it, was thinking perhaps some vegetables if it's not too late for them.

A tree Shirley - how about one of these :Dhttp://www.pilotbegreen.co.uk/tree/ I've ordered one for my DS2, just hope it arrives. I am sure she will love her present, my DS2 loves gardening and his fave things are his little tools.

AnWsMum, thank you. Reading through how the memorial service went I have no doubt it was an amazing but emotional day for you and the rest of the family. I love the fact that your DS was up there dancing, arent' children fantastic, I'm sure his Dad was dancing with him. This must be such an emotional time for you all, please take things easy next week.

Well all's pretty chaotic here, I've got 3 suitcases sat open across the sofas (did try on floor but dogs kept climbing in them) Massive pile of laundry to sort through and get washed/dried, made worse by DS2 wetting bed twice last night! Towel washing etc still happening.

I can see the sky and it's blue, woo hoo!! Wishing I'd got a wireless conection for my laptop now so I could sit in the garden. As it is I'll have to do gardening instead.
The source of the blue-bottles wasn't as I thought (half eaten mice) I think its because I feed Fat Bob at the back door which is open whenever I'm at home. I'll have to have a re-think, can't be doing with buzzing and battering at windows every evening.

Shirleypark, glad you're feeling happier today, do things you like doing this week end.
AnW'smum, that sounds like a really lovely memorial day. Like Lil_me says, look after yourself this week, when you work so hard, emotionally and physically, towards something as important as that it's exhausting.
Lil_me, that's still some list you've got.. I laughed about the dogs though, maybe they want to come too?

Off to cut the grass. I use the term loosely, its mostly moss and dandelions and daisies, then try and do my best on the hedges before the neighbours start tutting.

I'll be aroung most of the weekend too, with not much on my list but I think at weekends we can just come here for a blether with out fear of being kicked off the thread for 'irrelevancy'.

Hey, just wondering.. will there be a few hours when we are 'between leaders' so to speak, once Lil_me has started her trip and before Michelle takes up the reins? Scarey thought or all out anarchy? Something to ponder.

    Have a lovely day.

Oh yes, some list, about same size one for tomorrow too! Dogs just think ah cozy bed, sods. Sent kids upstairs packing their bags of things like books, toys etc, then when they are finished I'll empty out half of it :rotfl: they'd take half the house if they could! Part of me wishes I'd booked the kennels from today as with so much to do, them aswell, trying not to get hair on anything etc, oh well suppose it would be an extra £15.

Michelle's starting the list tomorrow night, seems easier then she can edit it. Bit silly me doing first post then not being able to edit it.

Oh and mines wireless :p might just take it in the garden later :rotfl: fat chance the dogs would knock it flying or it'd end up in the pond or something

Oh and I'm a Leo, far from perfectionist and a bit too laid back lazy lion for my own good :D hence the last minute panics.
