It's worth noting as well, whilst you can drive a car to an MOT station with a pre arranged appointment you will still be liable for any faults the car has whilst doing it.
    Bad tyres, defective lights ect.

Thanks for that, but it's a waste of time taking a car you know will fail.

Unless you want to see if the list of failures is more extensive than you first imagined before you drop a lot of money into it.

Lets you drive your shiny new Japanese import away from the docks for a much cheaper price than paying for a plater or a low loader, and if it fails you can legally drive it home too!

Not done it myself, but I know plenty of people who have, including one who then did the necessary conversion work (rear fog light) in the MOT waiting area having arrived an hour early.

Well it depends. It'll illegal to drive about with no water in the washer fluid tank and it's also an MOT fail but i wouldn't say it's as dangerous as something like dodgy ABS which isn't always picked up on the MOT.

On the contrary...nobody's an all-seeing bundle of perfection.

The failure statistics for MoT's only go to emphasise that...?
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
