16 year old, temp job, too many hours?

My 16 year old has just got a retail job to cover the sale period only (2 weeks).
She is hoping a job may come up through it so is prepared to work the hours no-one else wants basically.
My problem is she has been on an induction today and her hours are:
Friday 12th: 8pm - 12am
Saturday 13th: 5.30am - 8.30am
I'm just wondering how she is expected to get up for her next day shift after only finishing at 12am the previous evening.
Is this even legal?

I am, I'm more annoyed that the company are taking advantage to be honest, using kids for sh**ty hours!!0

Under the age of 18, I believe workers are entitled to a minimum of 12 hours between shifts, in accordance with Working Time Regulations.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.0 -
That's what I thought too hollylangman, but wondered if things had changed.0

As far as I'm aware employees are entitled to specific gaps between shifts (not sure what these are for which age group), but these entitlements can be waived.
In every job I have had we have had to sign to waive these rights, so there is no chance of falling foul of the regulations due to overtime etc. It was a case of either sign or don't have the job.0 -

If she's working from 2000 on Friday to 0830 onSaturday, that's equivalent to a 12 hour shift but with a 5.5 hour break in the middle - it's hardly going to kill her!0 -

If you can't be bothered to read my original post, please don't reply!
And I'm pointing out that you could look at this as one shift with a long break, as opposed to two shifts with too short a break between them.
In any case, from the link provided, it's obviously perfectly legal.0 -
what will she be doing on the Friday up till 8pm?0

I didnt think under 18s were allowed to work later than 10pm unless thats changed0
