Trouble is, it seems to be the "Big Ticket" items that dont accept it. (in my case anyway).ie car insurance, car servicing, holidays (whilst on the 5%) & you need a minimum of £3,000 in the 1st year to get any cashback, ill probably just about make it.
  • I just find it much easier to put the card in the machine - if it does not work change it for a visa/mastercard - simples!

I often do this, and when it doesn't work the cashier looks at me in disgust ("We don't take American Express...:naughty:").

You couldn't use it for a holiday? I would have gone somewhere else, I've never seen a travel company not take it (they'd be cutting out most corporate customers). I've been lucky with car insurance as the cheapest for me is the admiral group and they take it.

HungryHouse now take it, although it's not advertised - I discovered by chance when paying, I noticed that their CVV box mentioned both the 3 digits on the back or 4 digits on the front for Amex cards, so tried it and it worked.

I noticed this too about a week ago. So now I have abandoned Just Eat. We usually organise a Takeaway on Fridays at work. Usually coming to around £150. Nice little points earner :)

They advertised it on their blog on the 30th June and included it in their recent spam emailings.

Switch to Toolstation and use PayPal?
I have just ordered an Amex for the cashback and to ditch Tesco CC.
I use screwfix quite a lot so I was looking for an alternative. The Toolstation store is very close to my local Screwfix...
