It's accepted at tens of thousands of places, and per Venusflytrap changes all the time, never going to happen. This thread is more for the obvious/big names and such.0

Expedia and Opodo accept Amex; Petsathome.com (and their retail store, Pets At Home) do not.0

I was in CostCo last night and saw they were advertising a joint venture Amex cashback card - I asked if that meant they would accept payment by an Amex charge card (currently only take debit cards or cash) and they said yes - happy days as I can get more reward points.:hello:0

Great isn't it! I was in last week and just happened to glance down and notice right before payment that they had the Amex logo next to the debit card symbols. So it means I get my platinum card cashback along with my Executive club cashback!

As I recall, (have worked at Amex in the past), visa & mastercard have the lions share of shop's card business, in UK at least, as the POS system etc are often required / included with shop's bank a/c..
Amex had (still have?) issues overcoming higher % charges to retailers, for processing payments, and coverage..
and all for a perceived better service? as also a shop assistant, i wasn't bothered what brand/status a card was, so long as it went through quick!
PS- depending on rules/promotions at the time, my feeling was any shop that gave high visibility promotion to the Amex card would get a better (lower) rate..
(posters, leaflets by the till, product placement in ads etc.)Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
