    London Underground do accept Amex in their Oyster machines

    They aren't necessarily/always better, they're different. They are accepted in less places, thus this thread etc, but they tend to have some of the best reward schemes, and best customer service. Depends on your spending patterns as to whether they're a good choice really, but I think they're very good for people who tend to spend where the card is accepted.

    What's the point of Amex card, sticky to visa or master card. At least work every where.
  • All companies use a merchant provider to charge credit/debit cards, and the price varies so my theory would be that the charge is higher, just a guess.

    Found out last week that Richer Sounds have stopped taking Amex in their stores when I purchased a PVR.
