    Matalan do not accept Amex, I went in Subway the other day and the one I went in would not take it but someone told me this is not Subway policy but a decision made by the franchisee in each branch whether to take it or not so you would need to check in each restaurant.
    If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.

    ......rather than taking the scenic route to my B&Q warehouse to find they've stopped taking AMEX - would have got Nectar points too.

    At least my small local tyre repair place takes AMEX.

    I'm sure I used my AmEx in Matalan. Maybe I'm wrong - I'll have to check the statements!

    Why is this? I guess they charge a higher transaction fee than the others (also why their rewards schemes are more generous?).

    pret a manger doesn't!!!! Trying to collect as many airmiles as possible during my lunch break is impossible on this chain. To collect airmiles virgin it's the same...
    My frined is with lloyds via. not sure if it's time to change!!!
