  • Well OH managed to be at home for midnight, which was a start.... but then he decided we were watching Take That even tho I *always* watch Jools Holland!
FiL phoned earlier and said that MiL can't look after DS tomorrow (doesn't go back to nursery until Fri) so OH and I are doing seperate shifts tomorrow (me 6-2, him 2-10) providing of course that he goes in! He has told me that he will, but I never know whether to believe him or not! Plus he has gone out again, so I suspect there will be a 'I'm too tired' or 'I'm not in the right frame of mind' excuse in the morning! Esp as he has to look after DS until 2
May well have to be the same on Thurs, if she's still not welll. Also have to sort out whats going on for the next couple of weeks, which will be fun as I don't know whther OH will have a job to go back to on Wed, or what he's doing, so we could be in for an entertaining few weeks!

On the money front, I have just realised that the council tax doesn't need paying after today until April :D (we were on 10mths instead of 12) so that'll give us a small bit of leeway in the uncertain times ahead:rolleyes:
Also because of the way we are paid (4 weekly) versus the calendar months DDs, I should be able to save a spare loan payment and rent payment this month..... that should clear my CC and make a start towards OH's CC too (as lon as I don't tell him about the 'spare' money!)
Having said that, next pay he will only be getting 3 weeks wages instead of 4 because of this weeks stunt...... and if he leaves this job without one to go to, we are in dire straits and may well be living off that money! I did say to him about joining all the local temp agencies, and he said it was a good idea so thats a step in the right direction.

BUT just to be on the safe side, I am on hols in a couple of weeks, so may well check out my options with the CAB for if I do leave him to it! Hopefully it won't come to that tho!

Gonna spend the rest of the evening trying to get the notes I *hid* from OH in my terramundi back out again!

  • morning Sarah, did you manage to get the notes out? Has you OH been into work yet? how are you?

I managed to get about £45 out, then a £20 came out looking a bit ripped, so I put it all back in again!:o It'll just have to stay there for now.... I'll probably forget about it by the time it comes to opening my terramundi :D I did discover that I can get the £2s out without smashing it tho! So I took the £50 I had put in there out, so I can start afresh for the new year.

OH has sorted himself out, has gone back to work, had the disciplinary action he was expecting and is now head down, @r$£ up getting back to work...... and he didn't hand his notice in. He has handed over his CC (not that it matters too much, it's maxed out!) and is resigned to the fact that were skint for the next few weeks at least. He seems to have come out from under his black cloud as well, but I'll be keeping an eye on him, as I don't want that old OH back. I did tell him that if he isn't contributing to the household, I will leave him - that seems to have made a difference, because I had dinner waiting for me when I got home on Wed night!
He didn't get paid for 36 hours that he should have done, so that will come in next months pay, which will counteract the 39 hours short that he would have been, so that's worked out ok. He is gonna be on less wages anyway because hes staying on days for the time being..... this is bad as less money, but good as a) we get to spend more time together, b) he gets to see DS a lot more c) he's not in bed all day and d) he's less inclined to go out 3 nights a week!
Told OH about the rent money, and he's kept his half to cover his bills this month, as he will need it, but took his half of the loan payment and the council tax - we pay ours over 10 months because I like the two extra months after Xmas where we don't have to pay any!
Anyways, I will put my half of the rent and council tax towards paying off the last of my CC, then I should have only whats in my sig left to pay (about £100 I think!) and OH's money will go off his CC. My plan after paying of my CC was to save to pay off the loan, but as long as OH continues to be a bit more MSE, I will help him pay off his card, as its obviously accruing interest.... the BT I did for him only has £229 left to pay, and he's paying that at £50 a month, but I won't be doing any more BTing for him.

Got some stuff in my eBay box ready to list when I get time, and I'm hoping my Quidco money is a bit slow coming thru so I can add it to my Olympic Challenge money (£60.89 is due). I intend to save my OC money till the end, rather than using it to pay off bits as I go, so hopefully I will have a nice little lump sum to play with! Had a head start last year with Bank Charge reclaiming and an elec bill rebate, and I included all my £2s/loose change when it was banked. As I won't be banking any till the end of the Sealed Pot Challenge, I don't know how well I'll do, but I'm up for it!

Oooh thats reminded me, my bill for the last three months came in this morning, I was expecting it to be ginormous cuz I've been using the tumble dryer loads during the day (we are on Economy 7), and had the storage heater on full..... and it came in at £134.52!!!!:T Dead chuffed with that! Especially as I have now turned the heater down where the weather is milder, and have been making a concious effort only to use the dryer at night. We save £50pm for the elec bill, so its already covered, plus we have nearly £100 'spare' in the account once the bill is paid, just in case the next quarter bring the big 'catch up' bill.

On a small downer, DS has got an ear infection and was sent home from nursery yesterday..... MiL had got the flu, so she couldn't look after him, meaning I had to take the day off work, then go back in at night once OH had come home.... MiL being ill also means that OH had to do 6-2 today, and I am on 230-1030 so that someone is at home with DS..... AND I have to make the rest of my hours up on Sunday!

Otherwise, things are looking up for the New Year
