  • Not if he doesn't have his LBM he won't!!!!:D

Well, I have just done it....... I have paid off my CC!!! :T :T :T Will take a couple of day to clear, but as far asI'm concerned, it is gone :j
Its gonna be a tight month, and we've only got about £250 to last until the 1st Feb, but I'm determined to make it happen and not use the cc.

Made OH's change bottle yesterday and emptiwed out my purse into it, as a feeble attemp to counter all his change that I've had from him. from now on, his change goes in his pot, and mine goes in mine.... just found another 26p to put in his.

  • well done sarah :j
  • Just signed on to my Hotmail to discover that most of my Amazon listings have finished and they need to be re-done...... that'll be another job for next week when I'm off work then! Did get one sneaky sale in before hand tho, so must get rid of that tomorrow - give me somewhere to head with the dog too!
Just snowballed OH's debts, and with him paying £150pm, they'll be all gone in 13 months.... but I will supplement this with his change jar, plus anything of his I sell on eBay. I showed it to him, and whilst he wasn't excited about it like I am, he didn't throw it away of throw a wobbly, so that's a good thing I guess....

I am a little  atm tho, as I discovered he had another £235 on his Vanquis - damn them, why didn't they close it when I wrote to them!?! I even got OH to sign the letter!) so I *hides away as swore this would never happen again* BT'd the balance onto my Egg card  So my CC debt freeness lasted 4 whole days:mad:   But at 39.9% apr, that balance is not staying there, and if I go with the snowball (which I am), it'll be paid off in 3 months anyway... So I'm not counting that as my debt as OH will be paying £150 on pay day to me, which will go straight off the cards! Damn u OH, when will u have ur lbm!?!

The good-ish news is that OH is going back onto the nightshift next week, so that'll be more money, and they're meant to be putting his shift premium up (altho I'll believe that when I see the pay packet!).... means he'll have more than £85 left after all the bills are paid!

AND he promised to give up smoking (again!) by the time he is 29 (Mar 2nd), which is also a good sign.... he's trying, love him!

I gave up smoking when I was 29 Sarah so nearly ten years now - it can be done!

Hope he's feeling a bit better about work these days, that'll make your life a bit less stressful.

  • Thanks SS... he is actually seeming to be quite positive about work atm..... not sure if that will change when he goes back on the shift, but at least I kinda know what 'signs' I'm looking for should it all kick off again for him.
Hopefully the smoking wil cease, but I'm not sure how strong his will power is - I've never smoked so have no idea how hard it is

To be honest I shared a flat with a smoking friend at the time and that didn't bother me too much but going to the pub was hard going! I know you can't smoke indoors these days but the relaxing effects of alcohol make you succumb so much easier so maybe the working nights will help seeing he can't go out anyway.

  • I think for him it is habitual.... he smokes at work and when he drinks... when he's at home he hardly smokes at all

smokes at work? is it not forbidden? it's cold and wet at the mo so hopefully it'll put him off going outside for a ciggie. I read a book by Allen Carr at the time (spelling may be wrong) which helped a lot but there's a lot of brainwashing in it and it turns you into one of those really annoying ex smokers that can't bear to be near anyone smoking!:o
