I can't remember exactly when I thought 'enough is enough' but certainly findin gout I was pg was a major factor.... OH on the otherhand had the opinion that everyone has debt, and that makes it ok. Money is the only thing that we ever argue about, otherwise we get on like a house on fire... Thankfully, he is starting to realise that what I am doing is the right way to go..... we have only got about £50 to last us til next Friday, and I told him yesterday that I'm going to get my hair cut later on this afternoon.... he went on about how I keep telling him that we can't afford things because its a tight month, so how comes I'm getting my hair cut..... at which I pointed out that I save £15pm out of 'my' money towards getting my hair cut. The response I got was 'oh, thats ok then'!
I think with him it will be a very gradual process, but one thing I have found with him (which is probably true with most men) that if I mention something a few times then leave it, rather than nag him all the time, he is more likely to follow suit. sarah i admire your determination though. Most people whe they get into this situation allow the patnership to break down, well done you for encouraging him. I must say though good for him to be watching martin, and it was the debt show which makes it more important in his case!0

Yep - men have built-in anti-nag defenses.
Women nag because they enjoy it, rather than because it's effective."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Thats exactly what I thought.... he did get a bit funny when Martin advertised the cheap flights via CC deals..... I did have to point out to him that IPTW and MSE aren't about debt soley, and thats its about getting the best for ur cash too.postingalwaysposting wrote: »sarah i admire your determination though. You don't need to anyway - by your own admission it doesn't work.
Go on, admit it. It's like a washing machine with an extra-long spin-cycle. Not all that useful, but good fun to set going..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

How's the idea of him logging on here going? Has he forgotten about it? You''ll have to watch out tho, .you don't want ZTD and him ganging up on you!
Do you think (some) men stay irresponsible and selfish after children because they can or because they've been treated as special, or spoiled while growing up? I mean they "can" because we women would tend to keep custody after any break-up and it's usually men who walk away. Not a hard and fast thing I realize and know opposite situations too.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
