How's the idea of him logging on here going? Has he forgotten about it? You''ll have to watch out tho, .you don't want ZTD and him ganging up on you!

Do you think (some) men stay irresponsible and selfish after children because they can or because they've been treated as special, or spoiled while growing up? I mean they "can" because we women would tend to keep custody after any break-up and it's usually men who walk away. Not a hard and fast thing I realize and know opposite situations too.
He still hasn't done it, but hasn't forgotten - he told me last night I need to show him how to do it.

I think u may be right about the responsibilty thing...... certainly with OH, except for when he lived with his DS1s Mum, he came and went as he pleased, and even when he moved back in with his Mum for a while, he did as he wanted and rarely lifted a finger in the house. I think at the age of 28 he is finally realising that he needs to be an adult about things, and that some things need to be sacrificed every once in a while for the 'greater good' or for someone else.... I on the other hand, moved out at 18, but I could cook, clean etc as my Mum gave us chores to do as kids (and quite rightly too!), and have always lived with someone else, so have always had others to consider. I guess its just the way we are brought up and the influences we have in our lives.

  • Just got back from Oxford after having my hair cut, and I am actually quite pleased with myself - I went in all the shops I normally go in, and didn't spend a penny.... well thats not strictly true because I didn't go in my two favourite shops as I might not have been a good DFW and would have probably bought loads - Thank God for Cult Clothing and Schuh!

I feel like I've had a splurge, but in real terms I haven't..... and PaP, u'll b e pleased with me because I took a leaf out of ur book - I have reciepts for everything, and I've written it all in my diary - even the 80p for the papers this morning:T

    Anyways, I spent:

    Haircut - £45 - budgetted
Parking - £3.50 - was only there less than two hours:eek: will come out of weekly spends
Boots - £12.72 - but had a £10 gift voucher, so 'treated' myself to some multi vitamins (3for2 and half price :D ) some toothpaste (BOGOF) and two hand creams(BIGIHP) as my Liz Earle has run out, and I just bought 2 Botaniccals ones for half the price of one Liz Earle  The £2.72 will come out of the shopping budget
Mothercare - £34.96 - Had a gift card with £18odd still on, plus DS got a £20 giftcard for Christmas, so I bought him some things he needs, and theres still £3odd left on the Xmas card:D

So 'spent' just under £100:eek: , but only actually 'cost' £6.22:cool: .... I like that king of shopping :D .... and I went into Next to try to find something nice, as I have a £25 gift card from Christmas, but couldn't find anything I thought was worth spending the money on.... might keep it for the next Next sale and buy DS some clothes

Well done on a successful trip.

I'm off to the theatre soon as a treat for my dd's birthday. She's home from uni for a long weekend and we're also taking her to a posh restaurant tomorrow. Theatre all paid for months ago and tomorrow is sort of budgeted for, well planned anyway.
