  • smokes at work? is it not forbidden? it's cold and wet at the mo so hopefully it'll put him off going outside for a ciggie. I read a book by Allen Carr at the time (spelling may be wrong) which helped a lot but there's a lot of brainwashing in it and it turns you into one of those really annoying ex smokers that can't bear to be near anyone smoking!:o
We have an outside smoking area at work.... altho when he goes back to the shift, they are not allowed outside to smoke, so that might help, as the rain and the cold certainly doesn't deter him...... my Mum recommended Allen Carr too, but OH doesn't really read unless its a newspaper.... perhaps I can get the Daily Star to put some subliminal messages in!?!:rotfl:

Hiya sarah!! OH is a smoker, I very very occasionally do when i am stressed, but i just don't understand the psychology between nice warm pub...cold outdoor smoking area!! I let them go and get on with it while i stay in the warm!!! OH and his mate were outside the house in the freezing cold one night for 2 hours!!!!!!!! I stayed in the warm by the radiator!!
I do feel for you and i really hope he does give up for good!!

Grrr for you to the credit card thought, that must've been really disappointing to you, but i have absolutely no doubt it will be gone again in a second. Have vanquis confirmed that they aer going to close it now?

    Big hugs for you

  • Nothing exciting to report today..... spent £5 on a coffee..... well actually only 35p, but two £2s and the change had to go into the pot :)
Leaves me £5 for the rest of the week.....
Only £160 to last til the 1st Feb, so its gonna be a tight run...... actually got £200 notes sat in my terr (well hidden from OH!) so in an emergency, the cash is there - would have to break terr tho! :( but as far as OH is concerned, thats all we've got :)

Looked again at OH's CCs and some how I was about £9 out, so the actually figure is now in my sig - its sad that he's not taking an interest, but at least if I've got his card he can't put anymore on there! Put some more small change that he leftout for me in his pot today.... and 15p in my own. Looking at how much I have put in there already since the start, I may well fill my whiskey bottle up after all!

Nothing else exciting to say...... just found 20p in my pocket tho :)

  • Had a great time in Brum this weekend, everyone was lovely.... can't wait for the next one!
OH went to work and told everyone that I was at a Star Trek convention, so no doubt I'll get some stick when I get back in next week!

Had a good MSE weekend, had dinner at a Chinese restaurant with GF and Pap, and it only cost £10 each - yummy crispy duck too! Bought two proper Gro bag sleeping bags for Connor from TKMaxx, £16.99 each, which is about what I paid on eBay last time for second hand ones, so I good investment I feel!
Pap and I have been good little DFW's, there are 100million shops here and we hardly went in any....
Came here with £100 and still got £31 in my purse, and that included the money for the sleeping bags, so I am happy with that..... Did just spend £2 to get my MSE fix before I get home tho!:o And I'vce got some change to put in my pots too.

Can't wait to get home and check the online banking.... left OH with the card... only £40 in the acc tho!:D

  • Spent most of the money I had left...... got some fuel on the way home (or wouldn't have got home!) then we had a McDonalds picnic on the bed a couple of hours ago... OH is at work at 0600, so is tucked up on bed already, leaving me free to do some [STRIKE]important admin[/STRIKE] MSE catch up!

Have got about £7 left, which I will use as my weekly spends, so hopefully, even if I spend it all, I will come in under budget :D

  • Lovely first day of my holidays today..... Ds went to nursery as usual, OH went to work at 5, and I spent the morning either on here or doing some housework - which I really enjoyed  Got to do the floors properly tomorrow, between the dog and DS, the laminate floor takes a daily battering, and forever needs cleaning....

Had a VERY surreal moment earlier..... even more surreal than sitting next to Pap and Lennymfo in I_A's house, watching Bunny and Ste sing (the whole concept of that still messes with my head!!!).....
OH asked me whether we were going to get married this year or buy a house.... I did point out to him that we couldn't afford either because we a) have no money for a deposit, b) house prices are way too expensive, c) we are not borrowing money to get married and most importantly.. d) OH has £1800 of CC debt (yes it has gone up, yes I am very  and believe me, he knows it!).... anyways, he said to me, and I quote 'I don't want to be in loads of debt..... and I might sign up to that silly website u go on so they can tell me how stupid I've been with our money' By this point, I am picking myself up off the floor!?! !!!!!!!?!? Did I just hear u right!?!

So anyways, while I'm getting DS dressed after his shower (he goes in with Daddy), OH comes along to the pc to sign himself up!!! Unfortunately, as I'd been using the AOL email, it wouldn't let him, so I said I'd fix it so he could get on and he said......'if u can fix it, I'll sign up tomorrow'

I was like 'ok' all casual, but I nearly fell on the floor again..... I don't know if I'm in a dream or what, but someone seems to have abducted my OH replaced him with an alien!!!!! A very welcome alien tho..........

    Things could be a-changing

That gives me an excuse to get a laptop then!?! Seriously tho, I'm not sure whats going on with him, but I'm definately not grumbling!
He thinks he's gonna get slated tho, cuz he thinks I've been telling everyone here what a bad OH he is when it comes to money, and if anyone figures out who he is, everyone will gang up on him :D

So be gentle with him...... for a litttle while, then let him have it!:rotfl:
