Wel haven't been here for a while, so I thought I'd better just check in again to blow the cobwebs away.....
OH's lbm has come to a bit of a standstill.... BUT it hasn't gone backwards, so that's all good. He's just got back from working away, and now has nearly £100 to claim back in expenses (can't really afford the initial outlay, but needs must when the employment machine drives!). I have his debit card tucked safely away again, and his cc is in little pieces (which he isn't actually aware of yet  ). Me holding the cards was his idea, so I'll just have to wait and see how long it is before he kicks up again!
Told him I would sort out paying his cc off for him, but I will take the money on payday, so there's no way he will forget to pay me back... What I haven't told him is that I have BT'd the balance onto one of my 0% cards, so there will be no interest charged - just need to make sure I get to the post before he does now so I can hide his cc bill  . He's gonna pay £50 a month initially, then if any money is left in his acc at the end of the month, that'll go off it too. Gonna add it to my sig so I can keep track too.
From my front, things seem to be going ok.... got a load of stuff ending on eBay tonight, so we'll see how that looks after postage costs - I have resisted the temptation to look this time! MUST MUST get my stuff listed on Amazon again tho!
Got £164.68 still waiting to be paid in Quidco, plus £70 odd in TCB, all of which should be out this month...
Now have the £202.10 (plus an extra £40!) to pay off my cc :T but I'm gonna leave it where it is for now, as the balance is 0% til March (and they've increased my limit again!) so that can earn some lovely interest
Have decided to knock MBing on the head for a while, I just don't have the time to do it properly....:o Have made over £200 profit tho, so not unhappy with that at all!:D
That's pretty much it really, nothing exciting to report... hopefully I'll be back with some eBay news tomorrow 'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -
Glad to see that you are making forwards progress, and that OH is at least not going backwards
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Quickie update......
STILL haven't listed the stuff on Amazon  will defo do this week.
Good week on eBay this week, taking my Olympic total to over £1300 :T Have got all the money to pay off my CC, so technically I'm CC debt free:beer: but as its 0% til March, the cash can stay in the acc and earn some interest.... plus Sky have put my credit limit up by another £500, so if I'm disciplined enough (which I feel I am now), I will do the household spending on it and stash the cash in the acc again..... its 0% on spending AND bt-ing
OH still stationary with his LBM - again, I'm just pleased that he hasn't gone backwards..... but hes off work for two weeks now, and this is usually when he gets the spending bug - good job I'm skint really! OH still hasn't discovered that his CC is cut into little pieces, and that I've transferred the balance so its on 0%.... he paid £75 off it this month, so only £425 to go
Still waiting for his expenses..... the lady who normally does it is out of the business for the next 4 weeks, so goodness knows when they will get paid! That's over £100 we can't really afford to loose this month!'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -
..... and we have run out of cash this month already, with nearly two weeks til pay day
OH still hasn't been able to put his expenses in, as the woman isn't there, so we're £100 short for the month..... stil got one weeks CTC to come, plus the months CB.... but that goes straight into the bills account (and straight back out again!)
Did a big shop last week (£113  ) but that should last until the middle of next week at least, barring bread/milk/veg.
Got a good deal from Sky today, getting full tv/phone/bband for £70..... I know, I know, but OH will not get rid of Sky, so I made him phone up to see what deal he could do.... atm we're paying a min of £90 for the three seperately, so £20 a month saved (I'll be having that for the debt savings!).... then it all goes wrong from there!!!
OH decided he was taking the last £20 I had in the living acc, as he was going to a friends house to play snooker, but doesn't like going out without money in his pocket    Told him he'd better get used t it cuz for the next two weeks, there is no money!!!
THEN he decides to tell me that when he phoned Sky, he paid £230 for a Sky HD box USING MY CREDIT CARD          - I can't put enough of these here to show how f***ed off I am!!!
Needless to say, I was not impressed in the slightest!!! He was meant to be saving us money, not bloody spending money that we don't have!!!!
His attitude was 'its ok, u have ur credit card'..... if he thinks I'm gonna be buying ANYTHING but the bare essentials for the baby with my card, he has got another think coming. So they'll be no fags for him for two weeks, and my change jar will have to go into hiding in case he goes fishing in there. He is soooo selfish, it makes me want to beat him round the head with his precious Sky box! Also, his phone bill dd is going to bounce this month, as he's only left enough money in his acc to pay for Sky.... tough really:D
On a plus note for me, I have been accepted for the A&L acc (£50 cb thank you!), and have chosen to have no overdraft.... so just got to figure out how I'm gonna work it with bills etc. cuz my CB/CTC goes straight into the bills acc. Decided not to use the switching service, think I'll do that myself one at a time...
That's kinda it really, off to count my change jar ready for banking, as that money will have to be recycled..... oh and figure out what I can do to get back at my MoneySpendingExpert!

Hi Sarah - blimey!!! Sky HD - can you cancel it? I'm sure they must have a cooling off period. Has he not thought that if he wants a fancy-pants lifestyle then he should earn a fancy-pants wage?

OH? Think? U must be kidding me!?!
To be fair, he doesn't earn a bad wage, but his idea of bills is the rent, c/tax and loan payment. He seems to forget that food doesn't just appear in the cupboard, the car runs on fresh air and the house heats/lights itself
The way I will make him realise he's in the wrong is to just not give him anymore money for the rest of the month.... he'll soon change his mind about his fancy bloody tv channels... and as it comes out of his acc, if the dd bounces, he looses £35 AND his tv channels
I take all the money I need from him for bills etc on payday, then he gets whats left, and once it's gone, its gone!

Apart from that, it looks like you're doing well with your cards and challenges etc - good work. An inspiration!

Quickie update again before OH moans for me being on here all night....
Confessed to Oh that I'd cut his card up again, and that I'd transferred it to 0% - he didn't seem too bothered because I'd told him that he wasn't having his card back until it was paid anyway.... which is months away yet...
OH got a call from his boss a couple of days ago.... and he has been given a 27.5% pay rise:j which is basically an extra £300 a month - needless to say I was VERY pleased.... just need to convince him to save some now! Just need to fiddle the figures now!:D
