my initial thought.. get a grip... if you buy Clarks shoes they will cost more than £44.. are you taking legal action against them too???
Seriously.. that is really cheap.. my sons uniform was over £400 per year!! count your blessings! At the highschool I have 3 attending their uniform prices are 3 or 4 times that!!!
Tomorrow I am paying £9 each for my daughters sweatshirts for nursery.. non-compulsory I know but still.. a decent sweatshirt from anywhere else would be that too!
What sort of attitude is that? Whilst the OP's legal action agenda is rather OTT, to dismiss the cost of her uniform because yours is so expensive is wrong.
Every parent is on a budget these days, it's costly enough keeping the kids in good clothing, add uniform to that as well (where you can't shop around) and it gets expensive. Especially if you have more than one child to cater for.99.9% of my posts include sarcasm!Touch my bum :money:Tesco - £1000 , Carpet - £20, Barclaycard - £50, HSBC - £50 + Car - £1700SAVED =£0Debts - £28500 -
My uniform usually cost around £200 per year. More if I needed a new blazer.
Not worthy of legal action.''Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self-esteem, first make sure that you are not, in fact, just surrounded by a$$holes.'' :whistle:0 -

£150 for a blazer!! Where does he go Eton? OMG I cannot believe that any school could charge that, even fee paying schools cap theirs at £90!0 -
They seem like reasonable prices to me too. We've got a choice of three uniform suppliers in town and I pay around £7 for a polo shirt, £10 for a Sweatshirt and £12 for a Cardigan (in sweatshirt material) or a Hoodie/Zoodie (plus a bit extra for their names on the back). I think the tie is about a fiver but that's only in juniors and only if they're in the school choir or orchestra or something and they're performing somewhere so they wear white shirt and a tie. My two are still in primary school. The Comp they are going to insists on mint green shirts for the girls, so no cheap supermarket shirts for them, but boys can wear white.
What I think is out of order is when schools insist you buy stuff like plain shirts, skirts or trousers from them and charge the earth. Which doesn't really seem to be the case here.
JxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
I agree with others, that is really cheap. My daughters polo shirts are £8.95 each, and are gold, so unavailable from Asda/Tesco etc. Shirts are almost £20 each, jumpers £18. A blazer (for primary school) is £120 without badge. They don't do them with the badge. I think her tie was £5, but she's not had one for a few years as she refused to wear it.0

it may seem reasonable to those who have one child at a school - but, what about those who have twins and an older or younger sibling at that school? and one set of uniform isn't enough - a child needs two sets of the basic uniform. That is six sets of uniform - nearly £300!0

Unfortunatley though thats the cost of children. On 3 children I can easily spend close to £1000 on basic uniform and PE kits, which excludes school shoes, which have to be replaced termly.
Children are expensive, and the OP is lucky their school allows supermarket branded trousers etc, many schools don't.0 -

But even without a uniform, they'd still need clothes. What could they get that would be cheaper? And they don't need two sets of everything - surely you can manage with one fleece and blazer?0 -
I don't think that's extortionate at all
30 years ago when I was at school I bet my mum paid as much if not more.
Just the fact that so many supermarkets do school clothing now, people can get it cheaper
Seriously, I wouldn't be taking legal action over £44
Yeah, same here, back when I was at school about 20 years ago, I'm sure they were much more than too. I'd say those prices are about average.
Is this thread for real? Legal action my a**e! :rotfl:0
