Caravan repair man been he's coming back tomorrow to something to the water pipes. Dinner made and ate, I've washed up and pretty much that's been it. I'm shattered now. I'm hopeful that once I'm finished this cuppa DD will be ready to go to the big bed with me and 'watch' a DVD. DS2 has his pal staying over but they can look after themselves and by look after I mean eat junk and play Xbox
Will be in tomorrow love and hugs to all xI'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
Lovely post Pigpen..you put that all wonderfully...exactly what I would have said except I find it hard to write down...no trouble face to face IYSWIM.
Flying...very little..Im in agony with my back and hips...awful shooting pains down my legs...I want to cry...and Ive had 5 kids with no pain relief......Feeding 6 Adults 1 Teen a 8 year old with hollow legs and a very fussy 5 year old. Also 3 cats and 3 fishies

Bossy - Piggers (as so often) is talking sense there - I think you might be thinking it's because of your situation - in fact, as she says, for some of us new things make us anxious.
By this time of year I am usually desperate to move the class on and start preparing for my new class - come September I'm normally a bag of nerves at the thought of a new class!
Don't (however) let that put you off contacting the hospice worker if you feel there may be some value in it.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Evening all
Parents evening decluttered, I love DS3's new school, hope he does too. Need to get DS3 into bed, clear up the kitchen, work out which train to catch in the morning, put WM on and then I'll do the list - 10ishThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Thank you pigpen, that was brill! I did remind him how he made two friends within 5min of getting to the park, and the little Spanish boy on holiday last year (they played lovely together without speaking each others language
), and the boys he played with at parent eve a few weeks ago.
I'm with you that it's normal Valli, I wasn't thinking it was because of what's happened, however the childrens worker did say he used practical coping strategies with slightly older kids (DS wasn't quite 3 at the time) to help them manage anxiety. I guess it's more to help with my own judgement - as a child I couldn't imagine why anyone would want to be my friend. Which was completely daft, as I had friends already. But the proof of the pudding didn't quite occur to me back then
I know that whenever he gets to wherever he is going, he is always happy. It's just a shame he doesn't remember for the next time!
Green bin out for tomorrow, lunch made, bag sorted, nearly bed time, my eyes feel hot and prickly, I need to close them!Bossymoo

LW, thank you and well done for sticking at it so long.....my DOD (dear old Dad) gave up smoking in 1982 but used to have dreams about smoking (especially if he had been overtired or unwell) then waking up feeling thoroughly disgusted with himself.
reporting back in
minimal flying today.....
my ensuite loo scrubbed
a quick tidy round LR while everyone else asleep
Hoovered all of downstairs
Builder turned up to quote for insurance repair
picnic taken down to seafront formal gardens with DS and DD4, once it became overcast (trick worked no one around!)
quick visit into Mr Ms for some yogurt
HM curry made(windows are going to need to be open in the morning, and loads of f£br3z£ sprayed around)
Spoke to nursery about yesterdays Ofsted visit.....one of the work on's given was specifically related to DS......nursery have been told by Ofsted that DS needs stretching intellectually as he is "exceptionally blessed", so either needs to move into a more structured school nursery or they need more mature activities for him to stop him becoming bored and disruptive
Going to get this week out of the way, then i need to decide which local primary is going to get him!
Right I am falling asleep at my lappy, a quick food diary on t'other Fred then I must go to sleep
:wave:The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
bossy when my OH died my DS then age 7 had a major freak out. OH (46) was his step-father. It was over a year later and after counselling that we realised he was freaking out cos he thought I was going to die if he was naughty. His 7-yr-old reasoning was that OH's children were 'naughty' (they were normal teenagers but he must have heard us talking about their antics) and he died, so it followed that if he was naughty I would die too
:(
Not making any comparisons with your situation and your family but just to say that kids can make odd associations so I would make contact with the childrens worker from the hospice anyway for support/advice. I hope this makes sensexxx
Lots of stuff done today but I have a banging headache & can't remember specifics.
Love to all xx

Well done MMM! I wish I could say the same!
I am getting frustrated at living out of boxes. Most of the time we need very little apart from what we have already unpacked, but I desperately need to find the lead for downloading photos off the camera onto my computer, so that I can list the small dishwasher for sale on eB@y and make a bit more space downstairs. I suspect that the box marked "Office" that I need to look in has been moved umpteen times since I first sorted the spare bedroom where all our spare furniture and unopened boxes are stored... and I am supposed to be taking care of my shoulder and therefore not lifting 20 kg weights
But there is good news amidst the chaos:
- Young friend J managed to finish stripping the new kitchen yesterday, ready for the plasterer
- DH has made good progress removing the "chicken" tiles (remember them from the '70s?) from the old kitchen which becomes dining room/study in the new plan
- My temporary kitchen has now moved into the utility
- DH and I (who find it very difficult to agree on anything) have found kitchen doors that we both like - very plain, slight "pillow" effect as the edges are curved, but very flylady-friendly as there are no ledges or crevices for dust and grease to collect in- and even agreed on the colour :T
- We have also agreed in principle what type of fire surround to buy: just need to find one of the right size in a streamlined design. There was one in the shop that caught our eye: it was reduced by £200 :money: and very nice, except for a deep cut-in ledge around the top of the uprights which DH said would trap dust and drive us crazy. He is beginning to think like a proper flygent at last! :j
Nice plumbers are due at 8.00 so I must get showered pronto.
(((Hugs))), spoons and sticks are here somewhere, if I could only see them beneath the thickening layers of dust. If you can see what you need, please blow off the dust and help yourself. At least I still have the wherewithal to make :coffee: whenever the need arises0
