  • Clear out on hold today as my hip is really painful, so DD1 and I are watching films oh and she is emptying the garage of toys and stocking up the play room!!! I need to find the support band for my hip it hasn't played up in ages :(
On the plus side we haven't spent anything!!!

  • I really want to take the kids on a little holiday, they didn't go away last year and to be honest I could do with the break as well. As we don't have any money I really need to crack on with sorting out bits to sell I would like about £300 for just a short break at a caravan site with a swimming pool and evening entertainment. This should not impact on the plans for clearing the credit cards and Christmas (although the money could go on that I will treat it as extra!). If we decide to do this we will have to be extra tight with the budget and try to cut back on Petrol costs... I may leave my very hungry teenager with my mum for an extra week!! That alone should save me £25 petrol and £15 food!! We have already budgeted to collect him.
I also need to get on with surveys and comps these have slipped the last few weeks tut tut
My husband has next Sunday off would it be too cruel to ask him to do a car boot he does get a day off this Wednesday :rotfl: I could do it but I'm not great at getting out of bed :o Ummmm perhaps I should just bite the bullet and set my alarm, my poor husband would be in shock for a few days!
On the plus side my husbands wages for August are looking really good, his boss has paid him time and half for all his overtime which we were not expecting as he is part time and other companies we have both worked for will only pay extra once you have done over the 37 hours a week!! So far he has
    Wage £700
    Overtime £950
    Bonus £1350
More should be added to the bonus as this only takes us to Friday just gone so five more days to be added on :j:j
I can't wait to clear those cards! And put some aside for Christmas.
I have checked my online banking and set some saving goals online just need to get them complete now!! I am also thinking of setting up an emergency fund/car expense savings account but will speak to DH later to see what he thinks as we could lump it in with the Christmas one.
The girls are playing nicely although my house is looking like a bomb site.

  • I just love the postman, he always seems to uncover any of my husbands lies
First letter from quidquick addressed to ME thanking me for my loyalty on my previous loans and offering me a 25% discount!!! I have never had a loan with any payday people so when my husband promised me they were all in his name he was lying
Second letter was from his credit card thanking him for his recent effort in paying towards his debt but he is still £119 short, he told me he had paid this up to date so payment would only be £20 minimum plus whatever I pay extra  Obviously I plan on paying the credit cards off with his next pay but it's the lies they seem constant and I really have had enough. If I could afford to leave him right now I would :( I work tirelessly trying to sort everything out but without the truth it will never happen why don't he get this?? I want a secure future for me and the kids but he is just causing problems, we will never buy our house if he carries on, however I am really beginning to doubt if we have a future. I know it sounds awful and the grass ain't always greener but we deserve better. I'm by far not the prettiest girl around but I have never been short of male attention and sometimes think I married to quick. I do love my husband he is a good dad and I could never doubt he loves me but I really want him to be responsible and put us first, so far I haven't moved my car off the drive since the start of the holidays I would love to be able to say to the girls lets go to the soft play or grand pier. Anyway enough of the self pitying best look for some more stuff to sell!
Hope everyone is having a better day than me x

  • It looks like the little midweek holiday will be a go ahead we have managed to find a caravan break for £320 including entertainment passes so now we need to look at spending and food this will still allow us to pay off the credit cards but we maybe eating value noodles for the rest of the month!!! It's payday for us on the 6th so will hope the price don't rise and book it then.
Just one more hurdle to overcome DD2 is petrified of the shower, I will try and get her used to it at home if not I will have to bath her in the sink or strip wash her! She also sleeps in a cot so it will be interesting to see what shes like in the really dinky beds and sharing a room with DD1 I can't see much sleep going on!
Had another chat with DH regarding the lies he is in no uncertain doubt he is in the dog house lol So he is trying extra hard and talking about raising extra funds.
I have also taken some inspiration from OrangeFairy and started on my 100 things to achieve in 1001 days although some of these are more off my to do list and are not really things to achieve more boring things I keep putting off but need to be done before we start fostering; for example move all medicine to en-suite bathroom cabinet (foster children are not allowed in parents bedroom).
It looks like DH will be losing his car for a few weeks as my mum's car is due for it's MOT and we know of 2 things it will fail on, it all depends on the cost to get it fixed, she don't have the money at the moment as she is signed off work while my dad is still in intensive care and only getting SSP and after 3 weeks in hospital my dads pension credits stopped . My mum needs the car more than me as she is back and forth to the hospital and I would hate for her to get a call in the middle of the night and not have a car she could jump into! On the plus side I won't have a car to go out and about so should save money
Good news with my dad although he is still very poorly his lungs are getting stronger and he is no longer in isolation the infection seems to have gone. They will be watching him closely still as being 100% reliable on the respirator means the infection could come back rapidly. I am hoping if he continues to improve he will be moved out of intensive care and in to high dependency then on to residential physio - he will need to learn to swallow again and gain strength. I think he will pick up the eating rather quickly :rotfl: He has had physio in bed as his heart has now healed they have been able to do bits to hopefully make it easier for him :). He is having dialyses today so should have some more colour in his cheeks when I see him in the next few days.

  • Hi Little-Miss - great news that you'll manage to fit in the holiday! I'm sure it will be great fun. Its always good to get away for a change of scenery, I'm sure you'll come back feeling refreshed.

Its funny how kids are scared of things. My son is absolutely terrified of those hand drier things, he gets all panicked and clingy the second you step in to a toilet when you're out and about.

I'm sure your OH is feeling bad about the loan etc! But then he probably should have spoken to you about it! I know thats easier said than done, sometimes I'd rather just go without lunch at work than ask my hubby for money. Its a pride thing I guess.

Glad to hear your Dad sounds like he is getting stronger. That must be such a worry for you on top of everything else :( Brilliant news that his heart has healed, that must be a great step in the right direction.

Keep your chin up and will pop back later,

  • Thanks MrsSmith.
It has been a busy couple of days, car delivered to my mum as her car failed miserably on the MOT £600 worth of work. She has spoken to one of my cousins who is a mechanic and he is taking her car this week sorting it out and putting 12 months MOT on it for a grand total of £0.00. I love how our family pulls together when things are rough she hasn't seen him for years :D
My car needed 2 new tyres which are normally £60 each but managed to get 2 German second hand imports fitted for £25 each. Apparently the tread Laws in Germany are much stricter and have to get rid with 3 x the tread we do.
I don't think we will be going on holiday :( we received bad news from the hospital today and although on the surface my dad seems to be getting stronger they have said he will not make it out of hospital as the infection he had is likely to come back with a vengeance and they can not control the blood going in to his lungs and it won't take much for the bleeding to increase. They have will be speaking to my mum tomorrow about what they will do if he crashes again :(:( I have just phoned my Auntie and asked her to go see my mum as I can not go to see her as she has my car and I am 100 miles away, DH is working away so the earliest I can go is Sunday. My Auntie is going to call me later and said she will come and collect me and the girls if she thinks my Mum needs us immediately. It wouldn't feel right going on holiday what if something happened and I wasn't there :( I will speak to DH later and maybe plan a few day trips I know the girls really want to go swimming and may be Peppa Pig land as a compromise. I also think my mum is struggling for money as she's been off work for 2 months now so will do some digging and help her de-clutter.
I am hoping we can clear those retched Credit Cards on the 28th but the family is more important.
Some good news to end on DH has been told he has unlimited overtime and he don't need to book in advance so Septembers pay should also be rather nice.

  • Aw no, that is not good :( Sending you massive hugs. I hope your mum is okay too, is your DS still with her? At least between having him, and your Auntie going to see her, you'll know she won't be on her own tonight. Such a shame you can't get to her til Sunday, but as you said, if your Auntie thinks she needs you there, thats great that she can come and get you. Will send positive vibes your way and hope that things don't get any worse.

Thats so good of your cousin to fix your mums car, thats one thing she won't have to worry about for just now, as I'm sure she'll be worried about your Dad. Thats the kind of family you need, the kind who just pick up where you left off, even though you haven't seen them in months/years!!

I'm sure the kids will be just as happy day-tripping as they would have been going away. Just doing different things is as good when your a kid, you don't have to go far or spend a lot to make a good day out.

I know its easier said than done, but stay positive and hope you get to see your mum, and your dad too, over the weekend.

    Sending hugs,

My Dad is now on a DNR so its all down to him now to fight :(
Not much has been happening I have had no car to go out so plenty of NSD, we have to collect my car tomorrow as my mum now has a fully MOT'd car, costing her £0.00.
This weekend we are taking the kids swimming :D they all love swimming and as soon as I can afford it DD1 will be getting lessons.
DH called me earlier to say he has decided to do extra overtime above what we agreed, he will be giving this money to my mum to stop her feeling like she needs to return to work. I also had a chat with my mum about money yesterday and broached the subject of how we would pay for a funeral if dad didn't survive. She has 2 credit cards both in my dads name but one she is authorised on, she can then pay it back with our help. She also has ton's of [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] valuables which she can sell. She has 3 mother of the bride outfits which she paid over £500 each for, I don't know why she keeps them! So if anyone is looking for an outfit my mum has plenty!!! I will go down for a week soon and help her clear out.
On money saving news well I have moved £570 out of the current account and into savings £100 of this into the Christmas pot. I have left enough in the account to see us through 2 weeks so will need to move more across. I am hoping the low balance will make us think do we need this or want it! I will be happy to have £100 left for the credit cards in the savings. This is the month I want them cleared DH gets a bumper pay on the 28th and they should be gone :D. I am up to £17.50 on consumer pulse so will get some vouchers once at £20, I already have £20 Argos vouchers so may add to these. I have £25 on my clubcard this will go up to £30 when I pay my council tax, I am unsure what is on my nectar card so will have to check this out same with topcashback. I really should do some surveys but they are soooooooo boring.
I am not doing so well on the competitions I won a biggie a few months ago but nothing since, I miss the postman knocking and asking what I have won this time :rotfl:
