  • Yesterday was a NSD I took DD2 to the park and then sorted out 3 large boxes of baby clothes for a lady in the village, it wasn't selling at the carboot sale and we need the space for when we are fostering.
DH has taken my car today as a friend is looking at his to see why it don't always start first time he works some distance from home so he has had to put £10 petrol in my car.
I am hoping other than the petrol in my car today will be a NSD.
Will be checking the online accounts later to make sure everything balances, however DH has not been taking any cards to work with him so it should all balance.

  • Hoping for another NSD but I think we will need bread and milk today. Only £47 left in the food budget to last 2 weeks. We have lots of fish and chicken breasts so need to stock up on bits for the kids still hoping we can stay in budget but I think we may go over by £20.
The kids are arguing and really doing my head in, going to drop DS at his friends in a bit so hopefully things will calm down!

  • Hi Little-Miss, just thought I would drop by and say hello. Know how you feel with the kids driving you mad! Although mine were okay this weekend as we were quite busy so they didn't really have time to fight!

Did they calm down a bit for you?

Hope the NSD's are going well. Its payday for me this week so will need to do some serious budgeting and sorting out!

    Will talk to you soon,

  • They did calm down a bit, but it ended up costing me! I took them to Cheddar Gorge and got them some chips and a drink so spent £10 plus nipped into the shop on the way home and spent another £10. Really not doing very well on the budget :o However they don't get treated to chippy or takeaway often, this was only the second time this year!
I have just been speaking to DH and we have decided to change our plans a little, with Christmas creeping up on us we have no funds in place and I shamelessly do spoil the kids at Christmas as I don't buy for them during the year :o:o. I am hoping I can spend less this year using sales and vouchers earned but we do need to have funds in place. So we are going to initially clear both credit cards which should save us £45 per month and then put money aside for Christmas while battling with the overdraft! This allows us some leeway if we are short as our finances during the new year should change.
DS wants a non running car for Christmas to learn some basics and hopefully sell on for a profit. We have lovely neighbours who are happy to teach him so will need to see what tools etc he will also need, if we have a teenage foster boy this will be a shared pressie and project with their own tool.
DD1 and DD2 want everything lol so need to write a proper list. DD1 wants and iPad but at 4 years old I think not:rotfl:Innotab are bringing out a new tablet so will look out for the old one in the sales :D Its difficult to think about what to get DD2 as she always benefits from DD1's hand me downs
Will check other diary's later x

  • Today ended up expensive so no payments to Credit Cards yet. We had to buy DS some new clothes as all of his were either too small or had holes in  We spent £120 on 2 pairs of trousers, 1 pair of shorts, 4 tops, undies, socks, PJ's and trainers. This should last all of 5 minutes at the rate he is growing :D On the plus side this is the first time we have had the money to do this so without skipping a payment on one of our bills so quite satisfying
I also need to give DS £20 for the next week as he is going to stay with my mum and keep her company while dad is still in hospital.

  • I know what you mean about clothes lasting them no time! Its my payday tomorrow so with what little I have left after debts I am taking DD to get some bits for school uniform. We need to get 4 blouses, 4 skirts (or 2 skirt / 2 pinafores) and maybe 2 pairs of trousers but I think Matalan / Tesco / Asda will be the most cost effective.

Glad to hear you managed to top up his wardrobe without the debt busting having to take a hit!

Hope your Dad is doing okay in hospital, your mum will be glad to have DS for some company I bet.

  • My mum is loving the company and it's also giving her a reason to cook. She admitted she was so busy going back and forth she hadn't eaten in 2 days
Still busy clearing out, 1 trailer full of rubbish to the tip and I fully expect to fill it again within a week (although some gardening will help with this :D). I can't believe the rubbish we have accumulated we have only lived here 17 months and had a massive clear out when we moved. I have also found some car bootable stuff and larger items for facebook selling, I will tackle the loft soon!!
I have to look for some free activities for the girls next week, we live in a beautiful part of the Country so I am sure there will be plenty around.
DH's wages have gone in today so need to ensure that's transferred to my account ASAP to cover the bills. I need to check my account as I am waiting on £50 from topcashback to transfer to credit card.

Finally caught up with u Little Miss, your doing so well. I hope I manage to be as strong as you with no spending. I too will have to remove my DH's debit card from him as he likes a chocolate bar or 2 every time he goes in a shop to buy his "stinky sticks!!" If only I could get him to stop that too............

Wow little-miss a TRAILER of rubbish for the tip!! You are on a mission!! Ooh I do love a good clear out though, I think it is good for you! I'm off to get my mono-brow waxed at 1:30 then coming back home to get stuck in. Think I'll give the kids rooms a quick tidy, and then get up the loft. Have just sent hubby up to open the skylights because it is cooking up there.

    Well done on the savings!
