I did have a certain amount of sympathy at first with people (friends?) perhaps taking advantage of a naive person , however, as the story gets wilder my sympathy is rapidly disappearing.

Casinos are well used to gamblers remorse and as stated above they will know exactly where the money was played and that appears to be your laptop. Best get your story right before you get the police involved as making fraudulent claims will not go down well.

Just for reassurance, they can almost certainly tell from the style of betting if it was someone totally different, or if it was a member's regular pattern of wagering. This will be useful for your case if you're maintaining it was a former friend.

Yes the casino says the bets were similar but that's crap and they won't send proof! And I've worked out the time of the transactions and it's crazy it's like the £900 (second ) was taken minutes after the first.

You are totally deluded. Go and talk to your friends as has been pointed out and tell them to pay you it back by say Wednesday. If they don't goto the police.

This is not the casino's issue.

Using *your* log in, on the same IP address as all the others.

Any financial institution expects is users to have some responsbility on keeping their details safe, otherwise what is so stop any one of us running up a gambling debt and saying it was a 'friend' and expect to be completely reimbursed.

If your friends have stitched you up, then report them to the police, it is the only way to even hope to sort this out. If not, then please get some help with your addiction, gambling can be a serious issue- don't treat it as a joke, the only person you trying to bluff is yourself.

I dont understand why people are saying I have no chance.... someone has done this.. surely the bank have to cover this? i accept i shouldnt have allowed someone to use my username but hey I didnt expect this... the casino already seems nervous in their emails to me.... they said its up to the bank to chase after the funds as the casinos stance is clear....

As someone who deals with this....

You have no chance in hell of getting HSBC to take this forward for you. Either as a chargeback (which there is not anything to cover this) or as fraud.

You admit that someone else used your username... Yet you expect the bank to give you the money back....
    I guess they lost then.

Your only hope is your so called friends are honest enough to cough up or you are going to have to go to the police and report a crime. Take it all the way and see them in court.

Let me just say IP's and passwords to you. If they match then you are on a hiding to nothing. Other than maybe losing your bank account for making a fraudulent claim of fraud to the bank.
This is as clear case of gross negligence as you will ever see.

So what the hack (?) did happen?
Do you have absolute proof of what happened?

If you didn't deposit these amounts, who did?

What an earth are you on? Have you been hacked before? I doubt you deal with this stuff as I have Been hacked before and got every Penny back. Dont pretend you deal with this stuff as you clearly just answer calls or infact don't deal with this at all.

But you haven't been hacked this time have you, you've just been careless with your personal info. Your own stupidity is not something the bank is going to reimburse you for
