Hi Shelbi, glad you like the 52 week challenge - I'm just hoping that I can stick to it and it will be a nice boost to the debt busting next summer.

Hopefully we can get proper debt busting at the end of August, and work towards clearing £1000 per month from the debts.

  • Arrrrrrggggghhhhhhh - another stressful day in skintville :(

OH phoned this morning just as I got to work to say the bank had phoned him to say our sky had come off the joint account and that we were £64 overdrawn :(:(:(

This is pretty much largely due to me not having enough money to pay in to the account this month, but hubby doesn't know this. He asked if I could "sort it" so I said I would - so I've transferred what was left of my pay, which now leaves me with 57p and the joint account now only £6 overdrawn.

I'll have to go and withdraw the money from the kids savings at lunchtime to top up the joint account, and to pay the minimum off the credit card, and I think I'll have to ask my mum for money from the account she has for the kids for the last week of childcare due on Monday.

I'm hating this, and now my hubby is going to be stressing and shouting at me saying I'm not checking the accounts enough etc etc.

Have been checking the figures for August pay and I just want it to be 25th August then we'll be back on an even keel.

I have someone picking up some bits today from selling them at work, and same again tomorrow, so I'm just going to chuck all that in the joint account, and then see about paying off the QQ later in the month. I need to have maybe £200 of a safety net in the joint account to stop this happening.

The saving grace this month is the childminder being off on holiday and not having her mega bill each monday....

Welcome to my diary sammr85  and thanks for following. I'm hoping I can make good progress, but having a sticky kinda month at the moment - August looks set to be the same.

I have just paid £9 into the joint account taking it back to the black - it was sitting in the wedding account. Nothing else due to come out of there until the 1st Aug, which is when OH's payment goes in, so it should be okay over the weekend.

Just caught up with your diary, you are having a bumpy journey at the minute aren't you ((hugs))

That is fab news about hubby's pay rise and well done for selling all these bits to raise extra money.

And at least the bank is now back in the black. Your children won't mind you borrowing from their accounts as you're planning on repaying them. Better than getting yourself in further trouble with bank fees in later months.

Fingers crossed for no more hiccups on your journey x

Thanks for the hugs sammr85... it is a bit bumpy just now, but at the moment I seem to be just about managing to juggle things back and forth to keep our heads above water. Its not ideal, but it can only get better.

Have been to the bank, so the card minimum (£74) has been paid, and I'll need to go to get petrol after work, so that will be £25 which will leave me £10 in that account for food essentials.

I also have £6 in my purse in change which I will keep for food stuffs too.

I had set up a DD to the kids accounts on payday but because of this awful payday loan eating into my wages, I've basically had to go and take it out again. Like you say, I will be putting it back in as soon as I can do so comfortably so its temporary.

Going to head to Argos after work to collect a camping stove I have reserved online. I have a £30 giftcard for Argos from a wedding gift, and one with £1.01 change on it, so will need to put 98p (which I think I will just about manage!) towards the stove for our camping trip in August.

After that it will be home and get the kids things ready for going to their grandparents this weekend, which will leave me and hubby to get the house properly cleared out and things ready for car booting in the next weekend or so.

    Will pop back later,

Ha ha, same here, I think I come full circle, and by the time I've done the whole house, I need to go back to the first room and start again!

Never mind, it keeps us occupied while debt busting ;)

I'm going to get stuck in when I get back from the beauticians, get my brows waxed and then get stuck in. Will probably be back on later as we are child free this weekend, just dropped them with my parents this morning - doesn't happen often!

Have just re-discovered Music Magpie too, and they take all sorts instead of just CD albums now, so will probably give that a go later on too.

    Talk to you all later,
