My Diary to Debt Freedom!

Today has been a slightly spendy day so far. I have had myself a little treat and got my hair cut. It only cost £20 so not too bad. Tomorrow will also be spendy as I'm getting my nails and make up done for a dinner and dance we have - we are rarely out so I am making an exception.
Have listed some vouchers on ebay for expensive places I will probably never be able to shop in this century, so hoping they sell and I can chuck that at the joint account. Its looking okay just now, but it always does at this time of the month, its towards the 18th/19th it starts to look a bit empty!
Hope everyone is having an MSE day, and hope all my MSE buddies are okay - OrangeFairy, ScottishSpendAholic, haven't seen you online for a while so hope everything is okay with you both!

I don't have anything to report moneywise, but thought I would do an entry to keep a tab of the days for the 1 debt vs 100 Days thing.... Its all money going out this month, so I've been quite stressed this week. Trying to tell myself that come January it will be a new year, that will be frugal and careful with money, appart from 2 trips that are already booked.
Am going to do a list that I'll try and get on with around the house, if I get them done by Christmas great, if I don't then I can do them while I am off over the festive period.
Here goes:
* Put DS's baby things up the loft (he is 3!!)
* Clear out DD's wardrobe and games shelf BEFORE Christmas
* Sort out our bedroom, esp stuff under the bed
* Sort out my shoes!! Potentially mamoth task
* Look at painting techniques online for furniture
* Perhaps try painting some furniture to refresh it
* Clear out Kitchen cupboards
I think thats all my main things just now, but I may be back to edit this as more things come to mind.

Am quite pleased with myself, I've managed to get my daughter some Lego Friends for Christmas with Tesco Boost vouchers. She wants the Riding School and the High School, so got the High School and I can collect it from the store as of Tuesday!
The Riding School is still out of stock, but I've set up a stock alert for it, and hopefully it will come back in before christmas. I've had a look online and its out of stock at Argos and Toysrus but the prices vary loads. Tesco were charging £60ish (I think) and Toysrus have it priced at £89.99 :O Hopefully I can get it from one of the cheaper places.
No updates on the money front. Its payday next week so the Student loan will have another automatic payment, which is good. Once Christmas is over I can start on the additional payments and hopefully have it gone asap!
Have a MSE weekend everyone!

Have had a great weekend, mostly free and if not free, discounted so all good!
Tonight I have been thinking of ways to increase income or raise more funds in the new year, so I'm thinking about doing SOMETHING each month to focus on and get the pennies in. So far my list is:
January: Sell some shares
February: Have an online car bootie (fb/netmums/gumtree)
March: Bonus from work is paid
April: use the money that would have been Council Tax for Mar/Apr
May: Do a car boot sale
June: Sell some more shares
January is usually a slow month for selling things, so the shares is an easy one for the start of the year.
Will have to try and come up with more for the second half of the year, but I'm sure I will manage that!1st Jan 2014 £20,600 / 1st Jan 2015 £15,572.90**Feeling Hopeful that 2015 will be our Debt Free Year**0 -

Hi OrangeFairy, thanks for popping in! Sorry to hear things are still not good with the MIL, they can be strange creatures our hubbys mums! I think if I focus on something each month, I won't put so much pressure on myself by looking at the big scarey picture!
Soooo I can list another payment off the student loan - woo hoo!! Its only the standard one that comes off my pay, but its still something. It was £97 so am happy with that. Will just need to knuckle down in the new year so I can get rid of it. I think I have accepted Christmas isn't a good time for overpayments!
Will update my signature for the student loan, but it means that I have paid 38% and have 62% still to go. I'm sure it will be done within the 100 days, I'm going to really try and push myself in 2014 to get as close to debt free as we can.
Have loads of plans for when I'm over over the festives but not sure how much I will actually acheive. Just looking forward to spending time with the kids, playing with their new toys and games.
Hope you all have a fabby festive season too - and I'm sure we'll chat loads in the new year!

Hello all! Hope you are having a good Christmas! Just checking in and trying to keep on top of things.
Have a few MSE jobs to do tomorrow, so thought I would do a list:
1. Find Shell Drivers Club Card (Been missing for a month, but am keeping receipts for points!)
2. Link Gas / Electricity online accounts so I can keep track
3. Do a menu for over the weekend to see if I can get out of food shopping
Think there was more, but as its getting late, my brain is slowing down... will pop back tomorrow.
