    Hi all

Thank you:D. I celebrated today by having an SFD:D (I wonder when NSK is returning to England and it will be safe to hit the shops).

    :rotfl:
    Evening!

This is going to sound silly but I resisted a *really* strong urge to buy chips tonight lol. I sat there thinking that would be £6 out my spends, then a couple of quid for cokes...

   £6 for chips?!?!?!?!?

The scary thing is there are probably kids with Jacks as their mums at my daughters school and in the tiny village where I live.

Worked with far too many kids with a Jack as a mum, it really shouldn't be happening in a country as "wealthy" as ours, it's so sad :(

I am leaving July on a SFD high, taking my total to 15 :o. I did manage to pay off the CCs though I must confess this has meant I've had to put unexpected items (mostly flea treatments:mad:)on the CC but I can pay it all off next payday without incurring interest. I'm also going to revise my budgets for August as my current themes aren't working for me.

Morning all. Silly t'interweb not playing ball. Please play around with Jacks list. Asda is cheaper and so is Tesco. She uses Sainsburies as its her closest store. I have lots to say but really need to get to town so please don't think I am ignoring you all. Lillian I have the actual food distribution place near me.. Hopefully the council in your area will know where the HQ is.. Toilet paper is always sought after as well!!!

So I've forgotten my little code card that my bank gave me to accompany online transactions that makes everything so much safer. However I'm determined to start everything properly so will be visiting the bank/building society today! Mumsy has given me a little leather purse where money for misc spends will be deposited. Food money will be taken out today as well and my spreadsheet will be updated! Can only add another £200 this month to the debt but its better than nothing!

Determined to find overtime somewhere this month if it kills me! Forgot to add my overtime forms in before I left work on Friday so will get basic pay in September! Grrrr!

Anyway.. I'm excited and better planned for August!!

More later to close the month!!!

    Well now....

Stupid bank closed 2 minutes before I got there. Worse that it has been AGES since I have used my debit card I actually forgot my pin number and locked myself out. The down-side of being so cautious...so I shall be heading back in tomorrow.

August is nearly upon us and my countdown clock is ticking away! I have added a picture for your amusement just so you can see how dedicated I am this month. I know exactly where I went wrong in July. Here's why...
    • I assumed the old landlady would return all my house deposit and this would cover my motorbike repairs. Not only has the bike surpassed the predicted £300 by about £128 but the landlady is taking ages to respond to me and seems only prepared to return £150. I did not prepare adequatly for this. This goes to show that NOTHING is a guarantee, only the wage I earn. Even overtime is not a guarantee.
    • I spent money I was due before I actually had the hard cash in my hand.
    • I spent £70 from a student loan repayment when I should have put it away until I calculated the exact monthly expendature.
    • I did not calculate EVERYTHING that was needed this month. This included the money needed to get home to Ireland, on simple bus travel from the airport (£7.50), bus home from Belfast (£9), food along the way (£13.45), money donation to LLL for driving me to the airport (£10) which meant I had to use my birthday money and all amounted to £130 (with other things added in) that had to be replaced this month due to my terrible conscience and left my loan overpayment less than I wanted.
    • I earned some money along the way and since this was not calculated in with the months spreadsheet I spent it straight away.

SO this month everything is calculated down to a tee. Even NSK has things to learn about herself..:rotfl: I pulled in £125 more this month than I was expecting so after adding a little extra on my CC and food for Mumsy the bills look like this..

    Savings Account = £130
    Credit Card = £542.37
    Misc = £25
Travel Home from Airport = £20
    Food = £100
Food For HomeStay = £30 (probably won't be used)

Everything else is accounted for as per usual but the above it me covering EVERYTHING including the odd naughty PepsiMax I pick up now and then.

SO the purses... (Siouxsie you are my inspiration)
    1. Red Purse (Real Leather..:p donated by MummyNSK = DANGER! STOP AND THINK! This will hold my Misc funds only. I will have a little note cello-taped inside and carry a £20 note and a £5. I find the big notes very hard to break for the sake of a pepsi etc.
    2. Pretty Purse has to be re-worked a little. Nothing quite like biro scrawl to keep a girl on the straight and narrow. I have never loved to shop really. I like new things if they are multi-functional, I need them and I have researched them entirely in-case they are cheaper/better/sparklier/cuter or more vintage-esque somewhere else. But I DO love to save!:D:D:D...#lloser

    303lroj.jpg

So this is my lot for the month. I am sorely disappointed that I can't add my £800 to the loan as I planned but I am sure as hell going to reign it in this month.

I haven't handed in my forms this month for overtime as I completely forgot so will be on basic pay come September. This means NOTHING can be added to the CC...

Rights folks..... lets sign up and sign off. I am declaring this month OFFICIALLY over.. add on where you think you have gone wrong if you can. I know everyone is excited about August but I want you to vocalise and print errors you want to steer clear of in August.....

    Onwards and Upwards!!!

Oh my gosh Kat, I can't tell you how excited I am by your purses :T:T:T:T:T:T:T

My money has been shuffled and I'm ready to start again at midnight! I have a whopping £7.48 left over from July which I have withdrawn from misc purse (black) and will use for postage to send a little gift to my niece cos she broke her arm. My spreadsheets are tidy and a brand new one has been drawn up for August!

Well done for surviving July fellow yompers....I'll see you on the new thread!
