I am so upset for you and would love to have a chat with your mother for you ...(promise I won't) .. but this cannot happen... whats the game plan, have you paid anything to her yet...what would happen if you point blank refuse...? Seriously honey.. be brave.. say NO!
Lotti: what she said. And everybody else.
By the way, I'm lurking this month, due to holidays and the like. 4 days in Stockport and a 9 day staycation.Back in August. It'll take me that long to formulate a budget:rotfl:

Hi all, not been online the last two days, but still following the KAT way. Racked up a couple of SFD's and today will be as well, haven't put fuel in car yet but done a load of shopping. Took DD3 with me (well I was at her house when we decided to go food shopping) and she was well surprised how much I got for my money by buying 2 stripes instead of proper, and someone on MSE was saying how nice the Tosco 2 stripe choc mousses are so I thought I would investigate and they are really rich and choccy, so if you need a really cheap choccy hit I can recommend them (18p for 4:))
Not much else to report really, been given a couple of courgette plants and 3 cucumber plants so sorting them out today, and that's about it really, so off now to update sig
Glasses going well, got them Monday, but they need some getting used to, can drive etc but sometimes they make me giddy if I move my head too quickly, so moral is don't:rotfl:

Lottie - as those Grange Hill kids sang "Just say no!" Tll her you can't afford it and explain why. Personally I'd havea dig about your money sitting in an investment fund which you could've used for the holiday if only it was in your bank
Well, so much for my cunning plan to try and get Harley to eat meat, he just turned his nose up at it then started scratching/digging the floor (???) and watched the others eat the meat. They all thought Christmas had come early :rotfl:Still plenty left so will perservere.

Ha ha, I think that is exactly why it isn't in my bank!
Thank you all for the support, I'm sorry about ranting but it was just the assumption that I had this stash of cash ready that got to me!
I would, now I have calmed down, really like to go, and I won't get to spend christmas with my family this year so I would actually like to spend the time my my ma and sis. I checked the holiday rota and apparently I'd already booked the time off?!
I have a plan... at the moment I am paying my mother £100 per month to slowly chip away at some money I borrowed for rent and things whilst I was studying. We agreed this amount a few months ago and I was hoping to up it to free the last few financial ties faster, but after the CC is gone and I had built up little car expenses and moving house emergency funds (neither of which are there yet...). I shall sit her down and explain what I am trying to do with the CC and the rest, and basically make a bargain with her.
Repayment holiday = can afford to go on actual holiday.
Ironically, this money goes into her holiday savings account, so if she doesn't agree to it, she would be expecting me to pay for her holiday as well as my own!
Now I know this isn't a proper DFW attitude and does extend the length of time I will owe money, however, since this debt is to family I think we need a bit more of a balanced scorecard approach... Since the loan from her doesn't incur interest, if my time is more valued than the repayments, that is how we shall play it. It sounds so harsh when I write it down like that.“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

Im not doing very well with this no spending malarky! Yesterday was a sfd untill i got home and tried to wash up, no washing up liquid left!!! so off we went to the shops. Added cat litter on seeing as i was gonna run out at some point this week before shopping day so hopefully saved a spending day there. I also got myself some more shampoo and conditioner off eb4y as my current one makes my hair limp and greasy after a day and this new one is designed for blonde hair.
Today however, has been a success of sorts. Found the hubby had used the last of the milk and bread this morning, so got the loaf i had hidden in the freezer out for kids toast, and i made a pint of skimmed milk from the tub of powder lurking at the back of my baking cupboard! Was feeling very chuffed with myself, untill a bag of raisins fell out of said baking cupboard as i tried to put the tub away, straight onto my jug of milk tipping it EVERYWHERE! Several choice words later, another pint made and was lovely in my porridge. SFD no 2!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Hi!
July 4th -
Spent money again! Needed coffee..lol - already knew that when I forgot to put it on the online shop - but also bought ale and sweets for the kids, and stuff for their lunchboxes tomorrow as its run out too soon.
But, have started a spending spreadsheet so I can put info in it each day and see what Im doing a la spending diary. Ive already resisted ebay quite a few times which is good [last months paypal outgoings were £250?!]
Anyway, I have 8 spending days left, will plan for them. I like this thread, its helping loads!
Edit - To clarify - ale for me and sweets for the kids haha''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0 -
Well I've had a small spend day. I figured that as I'd coughed up £43 for the vet I'd head to L!dl and stock up on their Greek food (£9.97, and nom nom). Also had a very small spend in S'bubs (£1.18 to replace chocolate for the kids that accidentally found its way to my mouth, plus £1.48 on cat food treat for my poor fella with his sore mouth, and the other one as I wouldn't want her to be left out)
This being off work malarkey is costing me a packet. I'm at the docs in the morning - to discuss whether or not I'm going back next week. Not sure how I feel about it to be honest but I'll go with whatever the doctor says is best.Ninja Saving Turtle0
