AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH
So, we had some really good news about Mr L's start date for his new job/training being earlier than expected. My mother's reaction? "Oh good, you can come skiing then".
Why can't she understand that I would rather spend my money on renting a house than on s*dding coach trip to Austria and back, which despite protestations that "it's really cheap for skiing" is still going to cost me the best part of £1000??? And I'd be spending £1000 to spend 24 hours each way on a bl**dy coach!!!
It wouldn't be so bad if she hadn't "borrowed" my little inherited fund (from my wonderful grandfather) so she could move into her new house mortgage-free. She has now given it back, of sorts, in that she had it moved into an investment fund because "she thought it was the right thing".
So, apparently I HAVE to go skiing with her and her bl**dy new boyfriend and a load of other people I DON'T LIKE, the two people I've been on the same trip with before that I really get on with can't make it this time, Mr L will be in the hands of HM Armed Forces so he obviously can't make it, and I have to pay the £80 deposit RIGHT NOW to secure my place. So much for that extra £97 to the CC....
Sorry, rant over! Just had to get it out of my system I'm afraid. Sorry guys!“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

Good morning,
Popped to the shop yesterday but all were yellow stickers so another SFD and today shall be number 3. Had yummy homemade pizza for dinner yesterday I'll have the LO for my lunch (OH munched his late last night so he'll have to get his own;). Might go round for tea at a friend's house tomorrow and I said I'll make desert. I'll make a light choco mousse with YS items bought yesterday.
Managed to mow the lawn yesterday and was busy till just after 9 (washing sorted, bbq cleaned, dinner, dishes, carpet brushed, plants tended too...), but nothing else on my July lists seems done. That's so typical. Everyday chores are enough. Need to learn to delegate
Pouring rain this morning but the sun's coming out now and it's meant to be a glorious day. Hopefully get some gardening done once DS is in bed.
Lotti379 what would happen if you just refuse to go. I mean if you don't have a grand to go on a holiday you don't want then you don't. But I can understand it's difficult with mothers.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

lotti - put your foot down lovely, that's an excessive amount of money to do something you don't want to do. Mind you, easier said than done I know. Good luck xxxxxx
SFD today I hope, no cash on me and no cash in the bank! Planning to go to Virgin Lounge at lunchtime to read my book and drink free coffee and eat free biscuitsDinner already made for tonight, we may need milk but I can get OH to get that if we do

Good morning everyone
Just a quick check in from me. I'm still on the straight and narrow (just as well, we're only a few days into the challenge!!) but I'm in holiday mode so that means I have a million things to do before tomorrow morning.
Yesterday was my first spend day as I had literally nothing in the way of food (I have a few bits in the freezer but didn't really fancy frozen lentil chilli for breakfast!!) so I did a mini supermarket run.
Shall attempt an update later, but if not, £10 has been spent off my Food budget (yes, exactly £10) so I still have £70 left. Filled the car with petrol so that budget's gone (although I'll top up again from my holiday fund when I return) and I've had a few bits of cash flow my way too (a book I found on the train sold on Amazon for £4.80 and a nice £22.88 Quidco payout this morning) so that all helps keep the debt at bay!
Right, off to earn a bit more money before the final mad dash later. Have a nice day everyone0 -
Should be another SFD for me today
I have nowhere to be today, so going to lounge around the house working from home. The cat is doing my head in, he scratched at the door for food this morning so I put down some biscuits. He gorged on the biscuits and made himself sick 3 times! He's not ill he's just stupid. He also keeps peeing in the corner in the morning because my OH doesn't feed him when he wakes up, I don't think he likes the new change in routine so I might have to get the feliway plugged back in again. Joy!

Lotti - please for the love of goodness put your foot down! If you are THAT upset at being forced to go you need to make your voice heard.. and really make it heard! I am so upset for you and would love to have a chat with your mother for you ...(promise I won't) .. but this cannot happen... whats the game plan, have you paid anything to her yet...what would happen if you point blank refuse...? Seriously honey.. be brave.. say NO!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Spend day yesterday as I was out of smoothy items... this is getting expensive but I am now hooked on them and see them as a reward for my lack of tea / cheese / chocolate / sweets etc.. and the day's spending was started with milk and chocolate mousse for my lovely friend who split with her boyfriend the night before....£2.27 in Sainsburys and £5.77 in morrisons.. Amazing how it all adds up...
Fell off the wagon in style with the consumption of TWO massive carrot muffins (with naughty butter icing on top ) made by one of my MALE colleagues... good grief they were amazing....
Work colleagues all going out for a meal and drinks today as one of our posse is leaving.. I have told them as it's all boys I would rather give it a miss..... saving my SFD...:rotfl:
Thought I left my breakfast smoothie at home and nearly bought fruit to compensate.. thought better of it which was good as my smoothie was in my bag after all....(dosey mare)...
Mr Cobes - explain to me again why you want to class that day as an SFD...?:p
Kerry - the last thing you need is a needy moggy... mine wakes at 0400 to cuddle and generally sit on my head.... or attacks her litter tray and scraps at it... or runs over my bed etc... so much fun our little moggies are...:)
I shall refrain from commenting on any Justin Timberlake obsession....
Siouxsie you are doing well on your food budget.. I am starting to be fearful... avocados are expensive!!! Although Morrisons have 4 for £1 at the moment.. hard as bricks mind you. Used all my veg mince and fajita wraps on the girls the other night so another budget run might be needed early next week but for now I should survivie...well done on the Quidco payout.. I cleared mine a few months ago..
Right short and sweet from me - will be checking in later tonight but reading through out the day.... Lotti keep us posted as to your decision..“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Morning all - spend day today but hopefully that will be it until next Thursday on the food front! Work to do and hopefully by this afternoon the sun will shine. Shattered here - made my Goddaughters birthday pressie last night - so many other things I should have been doing and if I worked the money I earn for three hours would have outweighed the cost of the pressie had I gone to a shop. But would I have worked and its nice to put in the effort - sorry rambling now!!
Lotti - I agree with the others - you need to say no - also re your inheritance surely if its your money you should be deciding where it is invested/saved and it should be in your name? Mothers are tough breed sometimes we need to be told(just promise you never mention that line to my 6 year old).
Right onwards and upwards -will update totals post shop.
