Soap and bath bombs etc are expensive as gifts as legally you have to be assessed before you give/sell anything like this and it's not cheap!

I emailed them to check and they advised me that legally I would need to do this even to give stuff away!
Thanks Willowpop I will look into this a bit more. This looks like a private company (?) and to be honest I would expect that if I wanted to sell soaps (I don't sell them at the moment) there would have to be checks made, for example on the equipment being used and the ingredients.
All this company seem to offer is to 'certify' your recipe as safe. In many cases the soap-maker would have got their recipe from a book, in which case it would already have been checked and passed as safe, as the publishers would obviously want to cover their backs.
I don't know exactly how it works, but if I wanted to sell my soaps I would expect to have to apply for something like a safety certificate, showing that your scales are accurate, your ingredients are ok, and you are competent at making the soap, etc.The report button is for abusive posts, not because you don't like someone, or their opinions0 -

We had our Santa Stop Here sign stolen from outside last year so thought I would make this to hang in the window, my DD's are 17 & 16 so I thought they might be too 'grown up'......obviously not! :rotfl:

made a few of these little clutchbags for charity, this is the only one ive actually done the handsewing on the sides so i have 6 more to stitch. ive done them all different colours and fabrics, ive put silky linings in them all
another bit of recycling, i stitched this panel on the back of a biba shirt about 30 years ago when the shirt wore out id hadnt the heart to bin the panel so hung on to it hoping it would come in useful. decided the other day to stick it on a cushion and see if its any use as a fundraiserSPC~12 ot 124
