Any emergency service that allowed staff to drive on blues without special training would be negligent, and could be prosecuted under health and safety laws.
So are you going to show us where any emergency service allows it's staff to drive on blue lights when not specially trained?0 -

2.8 Police Drivers [FOIA Open]
2.8.1 It is Force policy that only drivers who have the correct authority may drive in
emergency response or exercise legal exemptions
Correct authority i.e. as explained by myself and two other posters, but I'll keep this very simple as you seem to lack the ability to understand anything too complicated:
Basic authority = no additional training = no exemptions from the road traffic act = no use of blues and twos.
Standard authority = typically three weeks of training = certain exemptions from the road traffic act = ability to use blues/twos, exceed speed limits, go through red lights etc.0 -
No need to keep feeding this troll. Move on guys.0

And if you exceed the speed limit as a basic going to an assistance call. Would it be discipline or court you face?0 -

Come on now, stop trolling. It is quite obvious that the answer is both.0 -

It's not cause you have an exemption under the rta.
Unless you can show us where it says you don't. Highlight the part of section 87 where it lists driving qualifications cause I don't see it in there.0
