You have been extremely patient! All I can suggest is daily calls to HO/Customer Service/your branch and calling into your branch and refuse to leave until someone does something.
• I was wondering if anyone has come across the same problem as me!! I am reclaiming my charges from Halifax. I wrote to them requesting my statements and for some reason the year I incurred the most were missed out of my 191 pages of statements that arrived through my door. I rang up to tell them and then was sent a letter to say that they felt my charges were fair. As the next letter is one for giving the amount of what you wish to claim I am unsure of what to do now as I am missing one year I do not have an amount to claim. Has this happened to anyone else and any advice??

I recently received statements from my Barclaycard Credit card. They also sent letter stating the copies they have sent me are from June 2004 and that they will send statements prior to this within 6 weeks or so (microfilm).

Shall I start reclaiming process with the statements I have already or shall I wait until the remaining ones arrive ?

Any help much appreciated. Thank You. ;)
:D

Successfully claimed so far:
Co-op Credit card £75.00
Cap One £200 for O/H
Barclaycard: £108
RBS: £290
Cap One: £126
HSBC: £338.50 for daughter.

If you haven't received all the information you require within 40 days of them receiving your Subject Access Request, report the matter to the Information Commissioner by clicking here. However, his staff must be as inundated with complaints as the banks’ and credit card companies’ are with SAR’s and there’s only one of him.

Please read the Reclaim Bank Charges Help thread.

Dont start a claim until you have all the information/statements you require and don't estimate your charges for the years missing.

Barclaycard do hold their info on microfiche and will always state this takes more time, just keep sending them a weekly letter until you get them.

Same with the Halifax but if you have a local branch go in daily and/or phone HO/Customer Services etc until you get the statements you need.

Can anyone offer me some advice?
I've started the process of re-claiming bank charges from Barclays Bank on behalf of my daughter. I sent a copy of the letter template to Barclays Data Protection Unit in Cheshire as recommended. If my calculation is correct the required 40 days for them to respond is up on Monday 4th June, however we haven't heard anything from them and they haven't cashed the cheque for £10 that we sent to cover the cost.
Has anyone else been in this situation? And how do I proceed from here.

Thanks in advance.

I sent a letter asking Barclays to send me the last 6 years worth of statments on March the 6th. I know that the letter was recieved as I received a letter a week or so later saying that my request was being processed and will be delt with in time. So I waited....and waited, the 40 days came and went so I telephoned the bank, "sorry about that, I'll put a chase on getting those sent to you" and I waited....and waited..... and called again "hmm ok, those records will be with you by the end of next week at the latest"... and I waited and waited and rang once more, this time I was to say the least scathing in asking as to why I haddnt received my records.
I know that I need to write to the bank and possibly the information commissioner but Ive no clue on what to put in the letters.... any ideas anyone?

Hi,

I've also requested statements from Barclays (well, barclaycard), I've received from 2004 to present day because these are stored on computer. However, they have sent me a letter saying that they will get the rest of the statements to me when they can, which should be about another 6 weeks. The reason for this is because they are stored on a different type of data system, and it takes longer to retrieve. The letter also states that the Information Commisionner has been made aware of this.
