They have 40 days to reply. Have a look at the '40 days and nothing' thread.

  • Hi,

Please can anyone advise my next step to reclaim charges. I have sent a request for my last 6 years charges, giving 40 days to reply together with a £10.00 covering cheque. I have received no reply & have also waster 2 30 minute sessions on wait with the Natwest complaints department.

Without the charges details, what should be my next step - Natwest seem to be basically ignioring the request & without the information I don't seem able to get much further.

    Thanks,

    Pete

this is exactly my problem with Barclays (as posted on the manin Barclays thread). You have to go to your branch and keep chasing them at the same time leaving a letter of compaint about their tardiness and stapling to it a copy of the original letter. If you have a personal banker keep ringing them. Point out how slow they are in comparison to the other banks.
Dont give up this is what they want you to do.
    Good luck

  • Hi

I followed the steps to reclaim my bank charges I used the letter template and sent a cheque with it to the Halifax bank requesting for a list of all the charges over the past six years. I then received a letter to say that I would receive the information requested by the 10th April and they had also cashed the £10 cheque. I did not receive anything so I chased by telephone and could not get no where it was a recoreded message saying that all bank charge reclaims are being dealt with. I then sent a letter to tell them them that they where breaking the law by not supplying me with the information if I did not receive anything within seven days I would be forced to report them to the informations commissioner. I have now come to the point where I do not know what to do next. Many of my friends have had no problem with the halfax bank. Please Please help me I do not know what to do

  • I sent my initial letter and £10 at the beginning of April. I have had no reply.
You suggest telephoning but there is no telephone number available for Halifax in Trinity Road Halifax. What do I do now? Please help.
