Ooh exciting Poppy, fingers crossed it happens today for you :)

Just back from the midwife and she's happy that although I'm measuring 27cm at 31w, that I've actually gained 2cm since the last appointment 2w ago so hurray no growth scan necessary :D

I have to tell you ladies this delicious recipe I made for fridge cake last night, although I have no idea why it's not setting properly. But who cares it's gooey chocolatey and mmmm.

    200g c4dburys choc
    glace morello cherries chopped up
    handful of raisins
    about 6-8 digestive biccies
    handful of hazelnuts
    25g double cream
    100ml coconut milk

Put a pan on with boiling water in, set a glass bowl on top and melt the chocolate in the bowl. When fully melted, and be careful not to burn it, add the coconut milk, then the cream. When that's done the fun stuff begins, add in your cherries, raisins and hazelnuts to taste, then finish off by adding in bashed up digestive until there's hardly any liquid chocolate left.

Put cling film in a square baking tin and pour the mixture in, leave to set overnight. Stuff in face when noones looking ;)

I think I may have added too much cream/coconut milk and that's why it's still quite sticky and not completely solid. Oh well, it tastes absolutely delicious mmmmmm

Having really strong BH today, and feeling really nauseous and generally grim - why is it always on days when I need to actually DO things? :rotfl:

We got to see baby Foo the other day, she's doing well and is a little cutie! DH is completely in love with her, he keeps looking at the pics and pointing out his features, it's so cute.

    Kerri, that cake sounds lush!

Good luck to Poppy and the other boldies, and thank you to the ladies who posted baby pics - I looooove them! You have such cute babies, it's nice to be reminded of why we're going through all these symptoms :rotfl:
  • Congrats flower!!

We want information, names, pictures!! :):)
  • Contractions through the night, lost bloody show at 4am so nothing left there now. Contractions got to 3mins then faded off, they're now a bit sporadic but have a constant pain/ache from where his head is incredibly low now. Hopefully today or Sunday as I like those dates of birth lol. Pleased I managed to avoid Halloween too.

Congratulations Flower - how dare you queue jump!!!:D Hope all is well with you both. Look forward to seeing pics, we love baby pics here.

TTC - glad birth was fairly straight forward and that you're both doing well. Love the idea of little Lucy asleep on one side while mommy updating us on the other. Can't wait to have my little man and just stare adoringly while he sleeps.

Best of luck Poppy, really hope it happens for you today.

Any news from brunettegirl & MiffyMoo?
You still with us Cloudy & BabaMoose?

I will try for part two as I have a feeding baby on my breast.

I was stitched up whilst Lucy was away - more gas and air required! My parents arrived during this bit (they were slightly excited). Oh kept them out!

They stayed for about an hour, met Lucy and headed home.

Oh stayed a few hours the went home for a could of hours kip. We stayed in the delivery suite until about 3pm - there wasn't a bed available on a ward - but that was fine.

The ward had 4 beds & everyone else had c sections so I was a lot more mobile. Sleep was difficult as the bell was rung constantly as the other ladies needed milk/ babies passing etc. Lucy also wanted to feed constantly.

    My feeding experience so far....

Ended up with sore nipples in hospital due to length of time feeding/ bad latch. Felt unsure about what Lucy was getting as there was no poo.

She saved it for when we got home! Made a decision to give her a bottle which settled her for the night & also gave her a bottle in the night. She devoured it & slept well but I must admit I felt I was letting her down. Back on the breast in the day.

I gave had a couple of calls from breast feeding support which have been useful - although again I still 'feel' I am letting her down when giving formula.

Speaking to the support yesterday she suggested pumping - I thought it was too soon for this, but I gave it a go. It worked fine and I feel a bit freer with this option.

One day at a time at the moment. I find positioning difficult as my boob is bigger than her head. I can't imagine doing it discretely. I had to move quickly yesterday as I was on the settee with them out & heard the window cleaners ladder at the window!

The breast feeding pillow is brilliant to support back & baby.

Also with people coming to visit I am not confident yet so it's good to have some expressed as a back up.

Good luck to everyone, I'll move to the next thread now but will lurk for a while as I can't bear to say goodbye yet. X
  • Ahh good luck Poppy and Angelmommy - I think I'll take my cue from you guys :)

Still here, hope everything is OK with cloudy. Exciting baby times ahead. We can all flood the page with baby pics hopefully and hope that November is a good run for those on the list... us October lot were a lazy bunch ;)
  • Congratulations on all the new arrivals ladies.

My little girl is a month old on Sunday , cannot believe how quickly time goes. I am currently waiting for my midwife to come round, curious to know how much she weighs now.

She'd put on 2oz at 8 days old and then a whopping 4oz at 12 days old taking her to 6lb 14oz then. Still tiny though as all her 0-3 mths clothes are too big for her, she just fits into 'newborn' range now without it swamping her.

Never did I think I'd have a baby under 7lbs, especially when told to expect her to be 9lb 6oz, lol. I will be capturing the moment when she does weigh that as curious to see how old she will be when she reaches that weight.

Here is a picture taken of her today.
