Hi all, not sure if I ever asked to join you ladies or not, but have been lurking for a while. EDD 30/01/14 ( my mums bday)
Those snugglebundls look really cool, and would match the rug we have for the nursery too...must resist the matching bumpers!
Did you guys get a flyer about a puj bath in your bounty pack? Our cottage is very 'bijou', and I've been trying to reduce the amount of stuff we have for years, so clever space saving baby kit is very important for us. I think that's what made the puj appeal, but they do seem very dear for what thy are, so hoping to find one on ebay/gumtree. Does anyone have any experience of them?0 -
KScarlet- I don't have a baby bath! I actually don't know if I need one, but a washing up bowl seems to be the perfect size? Might get a brightly coloured one at the weekend. Everyone I have spoken to says the baths are pointless but I don't know anything about it for myself..yet!
Had a few twinges today but I am sure they will come to nothing! Been for a walk, bounced on my ball and about to choke down some RLT. Think I will make something spicy for tea too0 -
KScarlett I was dull and got a bath set from mothercare- baby bath, top and tail bowl, sponge and hooded towel for £30, I like ticking lots of boxes at once lol
Omg just googled tummy tubs, this picture is just fantastic, the baby looks proper amazed! Made me laugh lol

Never heard of a puj!
Looking at the pic it looks like a modern/suave/grown up version of the flower sink cradle... they look fun, but can't see them lasting long. Could be wrong.0 -
Thanks all I might just go for a funky washing up bowl
I found the baby bath v heavy to empty last time but leaning over the bath was a bit difficult while supporting a newborns head/ etc. I would bath baby with my son but he's a bit crazy in the bath!
Baba that's a great price for one of those units! I have seen those dams might be a good idea once baby is a bit bigger (saves water too!)
Team Lowe that photo is v cute!
Hi Mazzaratinever heard of a puj! Looks v modern!

Good luck TTC40!
Congratulations fluffysox and lemonmelon!
Toothfairy - hope things start for you soon! Fingers crossed both our little ones arrive by the end of this weekend. I'm booked for an induction in a week's time but would like to avoid it if poss!
Nene - I'd be devastated if OH threw out my leftovers! Especially risotto, it's my favourite!
I had a big hormonal cry at OH last night about how scared I am that he's going to go off me - I'm not normally insecure but I feel like I've turned into a big fat unattrative giant stretchmark-covered hippo and it's only going to get worse when he has to watch me go through labour and then be a right mess, bleeding, breastfeeding, etc afterwards! Luckily, he's very lovely and reassured me that I was being a silly billy and he loves that I'm growing our babyOh and midwife tip for sore hips: purchase a birthing ball and kneel on floor, cushions underneath knees, rest arms on ball and rock back and forth, which will take weight off hips
I've tried this and beware big bosomed ladies, it can squish your t!ts a bit! In the end I managed to do it with an assortment of cushions protecting my boobs! I find it easier just to put a cushion on a dining chair and leaning on that to be honest, but it's not as fun as the ball!!0 -
Congrats on the new babies and welcome to the new arrivals.
Just wanted some opinions on something. My due date is tomorrow and my mum has just asked me to take nan to a medical appointment tomorrow as she can't get off work. I really don't feel up to it as I've been having contractions for 3 days now and the midwife has said I'm possibly in early labour. None of my family know about this and I plan on not telling anyone when I'm in labour as I know they will ignore my wishes to be left alone (they have already expressed this!)
Do you think I am being unreasonable in saying I can't do this? I know mum will have a go at me as I drive OH to work everyday and she will say if I can do that then I should be able to help nan out. The problem is that I don't know what tomorrow will bring and obviously if I'm in labour OH wont be getting dropped off at work! I don't know how I'll feel tomorrow so don't know if ill be up to it or not.
Just want to see what others think before I speak to her.0 -
I think if I was you I'd tell her that you don't think that it would be a good idea as you could go into labour overnight/whilst driving/during the appointment so you couldn't get her back again and you think there should be a contingency plan in place - as you say, it is your due date and anything could happen.
Family can be difficult though!0 -
Just jumping in for a moment (I'm only 5+5 at the moment!) but I had to comment on the baby baths. Mom has told me many times that I never got a bath until I could sit up since I was essentially cleaned at every nappy change anyway, and once I started getting them, it was in our stainless steel kitchen sink! :rotfl: Easier on her back because she didn't need to bend down to reach me. I didn't get a bath in the tub until I was nearly 5, but I was small for my age (not any more unfortunately!).0
