Hello everyone, just thought i would.come back and update that my little boy was born yesterday morning at 7.04am weighing 7lb 9oz. I went into labour on Thursday night, b Friday teatime they were every 3mins so went to hospital and was 6cm dilated. He was.delivered by forceps in theatre. Waiting on hubby to pick us up and can't wait to get.home!

Massive congrats Minimuffin!:j Your birth sounds very similar to mine - make sure you get some tea tree oil for your bath to help with the healing (8 drops my mw recommended) and also arnica pills are absolutely wonderful for the bruising you will get "down below". Really pleased you didn't have to wait any longer for your LO to arrive xx

    Congratulations minimuffin12.

Hope everyone has enjoyed the sunshine today. Haven't been up to loads, had a go at putting the travel cot up and down. I enjoyed watching the hubby try and work it out on Thursday :rotfl:

I took notes so when I had a go I didn't look as silly. :)

My kind Uncle/Aunty sent us some money to get something and we decided to spend it on a travel cot.

Then also de cluttered the spare room that will become baby's room. We live in a 2 bed flat and have an extremely tiny kitchen, so much so we've had our fridge in the spare room as the only fridge you can get in our kitchen at the moment is an under counter one.

But we've come up with plan B (plan A was a new kitchen, but cannot afford it). Our silly kitchen has a oven taking up 2 spaces, inbuilt oven and then separate hobs. So hubby investigated if the unit that holds the oven can come down without cupboards etc being ruined and woo hoo it can.

So the inbuilt oven and the whole unit is coming out and our fridge will go in its space and then the hobs will come out and a free standing cooker will go in.

Ohhhh the novelty of actually having the fridge in the kitchen...it's only taking being pregnant for it to be looked into, amazing what suddenly changes when a baby is on the way.

Other than that looking forward to only having 2 weeks and 2 days left of work. Has worked out extremely well working in a school as obviously I will be on holidays for 6 weeks and then in September I go back for the 2 inset days before starting maternity leave on the 5th September.

So I take my hat off to you all re the working situation.

Hi TTC - have you tried Bravissimo? I just got fitted there this week and I've gone from a pre pregnancy 34GG to a whopping 36JJ in a proper nursing bra! (They do online but if you're near a shop it's good to get fitted to make sure you're wearing the right size).

My back size is too big for their range :(

Prices are reasonable from Naturally Close (now Fashion World), they have stock in a range of prices so worth a try. We'll see what they are like when they arrive.

I'm on a house de-clutter at the moment. We have plenty of space but it just tends to get filled. Chucked out/ given away/ ebayed loads - very theraputic. Need to make space to start accumulating baby stuff.

Saw a bargain play mat in ELC/ Mothercare yesterday reduced from about £30 to £10 - had it in my hand but then thought that with an October baby I'm sure people will be asking what to buy at Christmas so I need to hold some ideas back - don't really think a play mat will be essential in the first couple of months.

Just been to cinema. When we walked in, the trailers were in full flow & very noisy. There was a couple on the front row (massive screen so neck ache time), with a young baby in a large traditional type pram. It was really odd & not something I would have considered doing. At the moment we walked in, it was exceptionally noisy but more reasonable when the film started. With the overall noise we didn't hear anything from the baby - although it was def awake some of the time.

Is it just me that thinks its a strange place to take a baby?

    Hi Everyone

Congrats on your baby boy Minimuffin!

NOT enjoying this sunshine! I'm too too hot! Had a lot of chores to do though so that doesn't help. Also been working long hours although that's not bad when I'm in an air conditioned office!

Today I woke up to brown spotting which has lasted all day. Appears I'm going to keep getting this throughout my pregnancy. Baby moving fine and at mw's on Wednesday so unless it get's really bad I'm going to assume it's the cervical etropian I was told I had last time!

On the whole I'm a bit whiny and tired today! Is anyone actually taking it easy in pregnancy? I'm not and I'm a bit worried I'm doing too much, although, up to it getting really hot I've felt fine...now not so much!

TTC - I wouldn't take my baby to cinema..I have seen people do it before but to me it's way too loud for little ears!

Taking it easy? not really but tbh if you do too much your body tells you- if not at the time then later on so if you're not suffering aches and pains then you are not doing too much don't worry. But if you're getting too tired or sore then look for ways to lessen your workload / activity level. I was joking the other day that in my first pregnancy I had a body pillow to help me sleep, needed a nap after work etc. Now I'm just happy if my two year old stays asleep at night so i don't have to get out of bed. Often I am aching by the evening tbh because of bending mainly.
TTC our (new) local cinema has a baby friendly showing one weekday morning where the volume is turned down. It claims to be toddler friendly too but I can't kid myself that DS would sit through a whole film.
Minimuffin congratulations on your little boy :)

Well a good day today, carbon sales am then a bbq/ playdate with good friends then a family member's birthday party with lots of big cousins to keep LO entertained. Car boots were fab, got a great baby gym, some lovely blue baby clothes, a cot mobile, and lots more. DS got loads too. One lady was migrating so gave us lots for nothing! :p
2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.
    MFW OPd 2014 £2000 2013 £9700 2012 £2848.39 2011 £2509.58 2010 £11000 2009 £112002008 £4939 :D
Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013 :)
  • Bangton I'm starting to take things easier now and taking more rest. My feet are getting swollen, my hips ache just from hoovering (!) and I get pelvic pain. Stomach muscles complain when I jump. I'm just spacing tasks out more.

I'd overdone it a couple of weeks ago - house move with all of the packing, moving and unpacking that goes with that (and deep cleaning of rented flat) followed by weekend abroad for a family do. Resulted in being completely exhausted, short of breath, achey and having to take the week off work. Spent the whole week asleep! I concluded that I'd done too much. Feeling much better now but have slowed things down. So as fluffy sox says, your body will tell you if you're doing too much.

    32 weeks today :)
