    Call & check Lobey.

I have one of those pillows - it was originally from Jojo Maman but I bought locally from e bay.

IMO it's good if you can get in one position, but I fidget & ended up feeling like I was fighting with a boa constrictor in bed. I woke up quite 'tangled'.

Hopsital appt for me yesterday. All was well on the scan with the estimated weight c 8lb at this point.

Consultant happy to leave me for labour to start naturally (hopefully) & if not I am booked to be admitted for induction on 1 November. The induction will be pessary initially & takes about 24 hours usually to get to the point that waters can be broken. Was told that often there is then a wait for a labour room to have waters broken, so don't expect the process to be quick. So hoping that the baby doesn't need this & things happen naturally SOON!

He has said not to try sweeps.

A family member who is a senior midwife in a different area has said that if I was in her area they wouldn't be leaving me past EDD.

She said that I am still high risk due to age, weight, fertility treatment, first baby even before you take into account the problems I have had with the location of the placenta.

Probably could have done without the advice as whilst I would love the baby sooner, I am going with my consultant.

TTC40 - people love to give advice don't they tsk, there's just no point worrying a pregnant woman, we worry enough as it is. Take it with a pinch of salt and think positively, soon you will have your lovely baby in your arms regardless of the method and length of time for them to arrive.

Just back from my 29w (no idea why it's an odd date) MW appointment. She's gone and measured bump as 25.5cm but put on the growth scan 25cm as she "wants another scan" hrumph! So now I'm waiting for the assessment unit to call me so I can go in. At least I get to see baby again. I ate a HUGE pizza last night and necked cola in the hope I'd bloat up enough for not needing a scan. Doesn't she know we're just little in my family? Better safe than sorry though. Have told OH not to worry and he doesn't need to come out of work, he'll miss the scan but his job is more important. Least I don't have to drive to Cardiff today.

Hips are feeling lots better today too :) I can walk which is an improvement on yesterday.

Lobey def call and check. You may have missed mucus in loo but the plug for me was more like snot as angelmommy said, with just a streak of blood. This time I think I've been losing bits of it at a time, but no blood streaks yet so prob not got it from very top yet. Good luck sounds like things are happening for you :j

TTC40, I would just listen to consultant. Induction is easier the more ready your body is. I can't have pessary as apparently it'd put to much pressure on csection scar. Obstetrician said that once cervix is shorter less chance of needing hormones to get contractions going once they break my waters. And therefore less chance of scar tearing. Also less chance that labour fails to progress and I end up needing another section. Your consultant knows your medical history and notes from this pregnancy better than a friend from another area even if she is a midwife ;)

Another poor nights sleep for me. Cannot get comfy. Still DS was born in the May Half term holiday so I have the time and energy to make his birthday special. Nearly half term again and baby will def be here by next Friday so that has worked out very nicely for us.

Can anyone recommend a type of cot mattress? I want a good quality one as we're intending that she'll be in the bed for the 4 years it's suitable for but as always there seems to be a wide variety of choice and I've no idea!

We bought a sprung cot bed mattress from Kiddicare - really nice, good quality and should last a good few years. Much better than foam in the long run. There are more costly ones with more 'features' but this one ticked all our boxes.
I think it was this one but can't quite recall for sure.

Thanks ladies, I called after more fresh blood and went to triage at 9. By that time there was mucous on my pad too but still bright blood. They gave me an internal and said I'm 2cm dilated yay! Contracting regularly which feels like dull period pain so been sent home until they up a notch to painful. OH now gone to work do will have a soak in the tub, meet the NCT mums for lunch and hopefully things will kick off soon.

Happy due date to those for today! X

I bought a sprung mattress from Mamas and Papas as we bought our cot bed from them. DD1 has been sleeping in it since she was about 2-3 mths old and it must be comfy as she sleeps like a dream in it 12 hrs every night.

On the weekend we tried to convert the cot bed into a toddler bed for a nap we had tantrums and tears, she was getting upset when we were just taking the sides off saying "bed" in a really sad voice and pointing at it forlornly. We gave up and put the sides back on and when it came to bed time it was "bed" in a content, happy voice!!

I never saw a plug with DD1, saying that my waters didn't break either until they were taking me up to have the episiotomy and ventouse. I'm getting nervous 35 weeks today and I'm thinking about my previous labour. My contractions were very short and far apart so I never got to push enough to get DD1 out without help. My contractions were still 3-4 mins at the end.

OH well the baby has got to come out one way or another so no point getting stressed

Ooh exciting Lobey. My first labour started off with cramps more than contractions. Hope all is lovely and as easy as labour could be. Xx

Kerri - take what they say with a pinch of salt. They weren't worried about size of dd1 who, at 17 days late, was only 6lb 7oz, yet dd2 they gave me 3 extra scans as were really concerned about her being too small - she was 7lb 7oz and born a day before EDD. If you're small, it's likely baby will be a bit on the smaller side. Xx
