I've done a bit of queue jumping....baby Mackenzie Elsie decided to put an appearance in this morning at 8:08 at 35+6. She weighs 5 pound 11 and a half. She's doing fine so far, just got to stay in for her blood sugar to be monitored but seems ok at the moment. Was all rather quick, only just got me to delivery on time and not even time for any gas & air! Dh only just made it as he had been sent home as not much seemed to be happening, then all of a sudden it was very urgent. I'm glad it was that way though, by the time I knew baby was on the way it was too late to think of anything and it was over before I knew it. I'm fine, just in shock that I'm now a Mummy as it all happened so fast!

Congratulations to Bangton & Lozza on their new arrivals

Flower - she's 25 and a completely spoiled br4t, wraps my Dad round her little finger and has been trying to "kick me out the nest" for a good few years now even though I moved away 9 years ago. Ho hum.


Thanks for letting me rant ladies, I've decided to screen her calls as everyone of them seems to end in her hanging up the phone and causing some kind of row with either me or my Mum and her. Just not worth it and I don't want to bring my daughter into that world


Baby update: wriggling away and moved from left to right now. OH is away tonight so I'm enjoying them all to myself

Wow congratulations Lozza! You've scared me a little - you were a week behind me - I haven't even packed my hospital bags yet! I love the name - Mackenzie was one of my favourites. Glad all is well - please post a pic when you're settled. X

We always had a feeling baby would be a little early, the qualified midwife who did a private scan at 31 weeks said to make sure my bags were packed early as I wouldn't go to my EDD - my actual midwife said just last week that's a load of rubbish no one can know that. Well yes I think somehow she must have known what she was on about as baby is most definitely here

Re baby not engaging - I don't think my speedy baby ever engaged until the last minute, never felt any different other than pains and then a sudden urgent need to push. So just cos they aren't engaged doesn't mean things won't happen when they're meant to

Been awake since 5.00am. Managed to lay in bed for an hour after that, but then gave up.

No plans for the weekend, suggested to OH that we go for a walk today in the hope it might encourage baby to move down. Might buy a birthing ball too - had one but freecycled it along with the tens machine when I was told I would be having a section .

u do have me panicking now though, you were due the day after me! really realising how close it really is until my little bundle arrives!
got a massive box of assorted baby bits from my team at work, ill post a picture of it later if i can

Congratulations Lozza! You have now scared me into packing my bag this weekend :rotfl: i'm 35+4 and haven't even thought about starting it yet.

Good luck for today ladies so exciting to get to meet your babies.

I've just been woken up by yowly cats wanting breakfast then baby hiccuping. No rest for the wicked then... Does anyone know, when we feel hiccups is that the chest we are feeling? I'm at a predisposition for a breech baby due to lack of thyroid but my medication has been all over the place during pregnancy, too little then too much. I think she's breech at the moment and although I know there's plenty of time to turn I think operation get baby to turn might start to commence, but want to make sure I know what position she's in first. Defo breech last MW appt though and hiccups are just by my belly button not in my pelvis.
