    Congratulations Amus! Lovely name x

I was just looking at the hospital bag list - can I as why the witch hazel is for?

Not sure if it helps but I found moist loo wipes and dry shampoo both a godsend in hospital!

Scarlet, the witch hazel is for putting on your maternity pads, it's meant to help with healing and be very soothing when your all bruised etc. Moist toilet wipes sound like a great idea! Although maybe could just steal some if the babies wipes lol?

woo, congratulations amus! first October baby so far :)

id been pondering since my scan yesterday how the midwives get their measurements. on the screen babys abdomen was showing 35+2 and i was 35+5 yesterday...yet somehow they were saying that its abdomen is right at the top line on my graph....
well tonight curiosity got the better of me from being told so much how its going to be a big baby, yes they plotted my graph wrong! they mixed up the head and abdomen measurements. im amazed though that they didnt question it at all! it looks like babys head has shrunk by quite a way but abdomen has gotten a lot bigger.....
i really hope they dont mix things up like that when it arrives! needless to say ill be bringing this up at my appointment next week, specially since theyve caused me the panic of thinking baby is going to be massive

Thanks Tooth I didn't know that about witch hazel :) I went for moist toilet wipes opposed to baby wipes as baby wipes aren't flushable.

I feel so achy tonight :(

Not good news at the midwife appt today, couldn't even reach my cervix this time to do a sweep :(, apparently I am 'blocked up' which is why she couldn't reach my cervix. I've now had to buy fybogel and lactulose in an attempt to try and get things moving tomorrow before being induced on Saturday. (sorry if too much info).

Weird thing is I haven't had any problems with going and told her that cos she asked. So I don't really understand it all and I'm scared now about labour even more so as midwife said being blocked up can make labour difficult.

Really not how I wanted to spend tomorrow worrying about going to the loo, wanted to enjoy my last day focusing on the fact that we will be a family at the weekend.

I'm 41+3 today and measured at 40.5cm which was told baby's weight as being 9lb 6oz  I really hope she is wrong, I can't comprehend having a baby that big. Midwife wasn't concerned as when she plotted the measurement on my chart it's not even on the 90th percentile, she just said well you're tall (5'9) and I'm betting your husband is tall. Which he is, he's 6'2, but still a 9lb 6oz baby, I was thinking 8lb something.

Congrats Amus! Glad all went well. Beautiful name too - looking forward to pics. X

Last day at work tomorrow - woohoo! :j Am sure I will be an emotional wreck as I work with around 80 lovely people but looking forward to not being in the office for 40hours each week.

Tour of birthing unit today; looks fab - all excited to think I will be there within the next few weeks having our little man. He's 3/5 engaged already. Anyone else told they are at risk of VTE? Wasn't even aware of it until midwife at hospital mentioned it today. Was decided I won't need ito inject myself as have put on minimal weight since pregnant but wasn't aware of it at all.

I know its easier said than done, but try not to worry. My midwife always says to me the more stressed and worried you are the harder labour will be.
My DS was 9lb 4oz and although I dont have another labour to compare it with, I had a normal labour with gas and air and then pethadine and it cant of been that awful otherwise I wouldnt be doing it again :rotfl: we know this one will be another big baby, but I am trying not to stress too much about the weight.
Got everything crossed for you that it all goes smoothly :)

Bump @ 32 weeks! please excuse terrible photo/ awful background. This was me @ 25 weeks ; http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=62896784&postcount=2493 I think I've grown just a little...!

*hugs* continual how frustrating :( my predicted '9-10lber' was 7lbs in the end so I really wouldn't worry about the charts. I am measuring big on the 90th centile, I am sure this baby will be bigger but I don't think she'll be huge. Hope you are ok xxxx

continualdiamond, try not to worry, fundal measurements aren't very accurate. Mine were average the whole way through last time and he was 9lb10. I'm 5'4'' and my husband is only 5'7''? Even if they're heavy it depends as much on position, size of head etc. So even if your baby is heavier it may be cos they are long rather than being difficult to deliver. DS's head was 95th percentile and he was back to back so just couldn't descend. This baby is measuring average from growth scan but head is 80th percentile- typical! However midwives fundal measurements are putting me at smaller than average- about 3 weeks behind.

Braxton Hicks combined with jumpy baby tonight. Was 2/5 engaged Tuesday, so "well down" and baby is truly head-butting my cervix this evening.. Another attempt at a sweep tomorrow. We're all ready for baby but as my mother keeps saying they're easier to look after before they're born lol. Have been distracting myself with new cushions for living room today and looking at other accessories. DS has until recently been good at going for a nap after lunch. He is fighting it now and we have grumpy tantrums in the afternoons until he falls asleep in the car usually on our way home from wherever I end up taking him. Off to try and get comfortable and perhaps sleep?
