Cleofish - pleased that you've had a lovely year rather than what you had expected. We tried for 7yrs for this one and sadly lost a baby, end of Nov last year so this one is super special to us and our girls.

Thank you, im so sorry to hear what happened last November, I can only imagine how special this one is to you now. I bet your girls cant wait.Hi Cleo, I'm taking the tea and capsules; 4 cups of tea and 3 x 500mg tablets daily (hoping to have a super uterus by the time baby comes!) and I'm 38+3 today. I think it's best to introduce them slowish to start with however I got bored quickly and went from one daily at 36 weeks to two daily at 37 weeks then a few days later took 3 daily. Got quite strong braxton hicks that day and don't know if this was coincidence but I have stopped there for now!
I'm also taking evening primrose oil to supposedly soften the cervix!
Thanks hopelass, my raspberry capsules came today so I think ill start taking them, not sure ill be able to manage like you 4 teas and 3x500mg tablets though not straight away anyway, your going to have a super strong uterus! I think my capsules are only 400mg as well.
Wasnt sure what the evening primrose was for until you said, can you take them orally or do they have to be inserted to soften the cervix?
Also asking some advice from anyone whos taking arnica tablets, the supplement part off the list says 3 days before and then another at onset of labour, how do you work out when that will be? Is it 3 days before due date?0 -
Things looking up. ..niggles back and had a show! Yikes.... does labour usually start soon after show? I'm ready! !!
Wow bangton exciting have you had any more niggles, hope you dont mind me asking did you show come away in one go?
Fingers crossed something happens for you!Toothfairy4 wrote: »Bangton, continualdiamond and anyone else trying to bring on labour... Why don't you make the famous raspberry and lemon curd cake from a few months ago (recipe here), the ladies at the time were all joking it induces labour
Might have a look at this, really fancying something sweet all the time at the moment!Toothfairy4 wrote: »Having my weekly blub whilst watching The Midwives. Emotional wreck! This made me cry as well, stupid midwife program making me all emotional! I think it was just the look on the oh face that got me!0 -

It took him a good while to process what had happened I think :rotfl: he only went to get something to eat while she had a little rest!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

Hi Cleo, I have googled a lot about evening primrose and there are many variations on the ways people take them! Most seem to take them orally and then insert them vaginally nearer the due date or when they are overdue. I think I'll just continue to take them orally unless I get really desperate!! Some say they need to be metabolised by the body to break them down into the right chemical compound to do the job of softening the cervix and some people say inserting them overnight or even popping a capsule and massaging the oil into the cervix (if you can reach) is the best way forward. Loads of conflicting advice so I'm just taking them orally for now!!
I also have arnica tablets but not sure when to take them so I will be interested to hear others' replies to this!
AFM I spent 3 hours in the MAU last night. Baby decided after a manic amount of movement on Monday to be very very quiet yesterday to the point where I was desperately bouncing on my ball in tears having drunk an enormous amount of iced orange juice and eaten chocolate and lay down for 2 hours hoping it would move.......poor OH came home from work and told me to call the midwife which I did and she said to come in. So I was monitored and the little so and so started bouncing around again! Midwife said the trace was "beautiful" and there were no problems but I had done the right thing in coming in. Was meant to be going to aqua natal tonight but I'm going to give it a miss and have a relaxing bath instead after the worry of yesterday!
Hope everyone else is well, I'm going to read back properly now x

Sorry to hear your feeling down lobey, abis and walking on a dream. ive definitely felt like that at times through this pregnancy, im hoping that you all manage to get better quality sleep and feel more your cheerful selves soon. Are you able to do something for yourselves that you know will pick yourselves up? Some me time, a film maybe or lots of chocolate?
Afm, had another growth scan and consultant apt today, baby's growth was ok but the fluid level has gone down again, two weeks ago it was something like 80 and now its 49 and my consultant told me last time as long as it doesnt fall below 50 they wont intervene.
not sure if it is how baby is lying and how they get their measurements or whether I am actually losing fluid. Ive had some discharge and some fluid but didnt know if that was normal bladder pressure problems. Had the stupid speculum test again to check for fluid (god knows how many times ive had my bits out so far in this pregnancy! ) but that looked ok, so as my normal consultant wasnt in clinic im back on twice weekly monitoring again and another scan next tuesday where she strongly suggested if its the same or below its going to look like im being induced!
It so frustrating it seems like nearly every week there is a roller coaster of thinking everything is good to thinking im going to be induced, its hard to get my head around what will happen and it looks like I still wont know now until the scan next week!
The only good thing is this time I will be 39 weeks instead of 35 lkke they originally wanted to last time and if they do induce me ive already had the steroid injections to help build up her lungs so least ive have that on my side.
Anyone been having like a trapped nerve pain along their veins either side of their groin?
Its probably because little one is moving down, but I get a sharp shock of pain like something is trapped and then I yelp and have to wiggle my leg, it probably looks hilarious to see a heavily pregnant woman doing this, well it scared oh, I think he thought I was going into labour, but I cant help my reaction as it just seems to come on so quick, wondering if anyone else is having similar?

Vic - I got a quinny buzz second hand and its fab. I love it. It definitely does help your budget go so much further, and all the covers are washable etc. People tend to take very good care of their buggies too. Hope you manage to get your other one taken back - I couldn't be faffed with removing wheels all the time either.

Called mothercare and they said the dimensions are with the wheels off  they could have said that on the net or in the store! Anyways, they were lovely and are happy to refund me. I guess Saturday will be filled with trying prams in my boot!
Thank you for all your suggestions...you're all so lovely. Going to spend the evening researching them all.
32 weeks today and on the subject of being organised, I need to get a move on! Practically nothing bought, spare room needs de-junking and furniture needs moving in!DS born November 2013 :smileyhea0 -

Stupid mothercare! I'm not sure what to recommend pram wise but DO NOT buy a silvercross3D! We barely used ours as it was hard to push/ heavy to lift/ took loads of boot space and I just hated it! Good luck though lovely I've been having a look around but most small folding systems are ridiculously priceyx
Bubs must have grown as my bump has expanded and is touching the steering wheel when I drive. This never happened last time! I've now gained 7lbs (32 weeks Friday) I'm sure I will gain a lot more over the next 8-10 weeks!
Can anyone help re: Moses basket stands please . What's the preference, rocking or non rocking? We just had a basic non rocking one last time so I've no idea if we would use the rocking function? Part of me thinks it could be useful for settling baby without me getting out of bed but I'm not entirely sure? XTrying to save for a deposit

Vic I've bought lots (I tried to purchase one big thing a month due to rubbish salary) but baby's room is still a disaster zone! Full of junk! My wall stickers are still in packaging grrr! I am hoping to make/ buy DH lots of cake for this weekend in the hope he gets moving stuff for me to start making the room look lovely (in theory!) xTrying to save for a deposit

Enjoyed my last lunch date with my hubby this afternoon, he doesn't work Wednesdays and thankfully isn't working away Thurs - Fri this week which was a possibility.
We had to wait for our kiddicare order to be delivered so decided afterwards to go out for a late lunch/early tea. I'd even had a late breakfast so could enjoy a pudding after my main meal, hehehe.
Thought I'd share my last bump shot at 41+2 with you all as will be induced on Saturday if nothing happens before then, so not long left at all now.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160
