Argh just need to vent. I don't know if its hormones or what but I could easily kill my OH at the moment. I must be nesting as I've never been interested in housework, actually I still hate it but feel a burning need to do it!

Its not the easiest of tasks being 36 weeks and full of cold, bending is a massive struggle, I get out of breath and tired very easily. I spent yesterday scrubbing the house and it looked nice and sparkly clean so why does OH insist on messing it up almost straight away. It's mainly the kitchen that drives me insane. Why he can't put dirty dishes at least near the sink I don't know and how does the floor and entire kitchen end up covered in bread crumbs? What on earth does he do with bread when making a sandwich? Throw it around the kitchen?

I'm now seriously contemplating returning to work full time and allowing him to be the stay at home parent so he can deal with all the housework then maybe he will see how infuriating it is!!

It's taking all my energy not to hit him. Are OH's always annoying at this stage!?

I think it's more a case that you notice things more and you are more irritable. I'm fairly luckily as my MIL is almost OCD and it has rubbed off on DH, but he still does stupid things and I did find myself flying off the handle about things that when I thought about them later were very stupid, but at the time it was like the end of the world!

I think he has caught the nesting bug, he's been tidying up the house. He rearranged the furniture yesterday and went to Ikea and got some new furniture for DD1's room, some toy storage for our front room and he chucked out some of our old furniture which was falling apart. All of this whilst I was in work :)

It just seems really terrible, there were talk that all the babies were the result of christmas, (like that was an excuse), that a midwife had collapsed upstairs because she hadnt eaten and that community midwives from about 45 mins away had to be drafted in as well!
It really didnt fill me with confidence if we have to go in.

Is it like this every where?

My hospital is expecting a massive spike in babies born there in October - something like 700. The midwives keep talking about it being because of "all the new year's babies" which is really annoying me, I'm due at the end of Oct so I conceived at the end of Jan, I don't want to be lumped in with all the new years babies!!:rotfl: Got my fingers crossed that the majority of that 700 will be early Oct and my little one will come at the end of the month, and hopefully there will be some beds free in the midwife-led unit by then!! :o

36+6 - full term tomorrow, eek!!!
  • Ugh. Starting to get so uncomfortable :( have had a horrible pain in my left hip/pelvis area since yesterday. Really hurts when i walk but feels like i should stretch it iykwim? Been for a big walk around the park with DH and the dog, off for a bath now to see if that helps.

Feel like now the house is sorted i would just like baby here asap but gearing up for a possible 4+ weeks wait :(

  • dislike these hormones!
my DH was annoying me about housework again yesterday, he keeps inviting people over to see our new house and somehow he always manages to find a way that it ends up being me doing all the housework and getting exhausted.

then today hes just left to go to York until Tuesday for work, he just left at 3:15 and i was almost in tears as he disappeared round the corner!
im not used to him being away and keep telling myself its stupid because i know there are so many who spend days and weeks apart very frequently, its just because im not used to it i think!
hes back tuesday night and then away on wednesday afternoon over to Oktoberfest with his friends until Saturday.....
i really should just enjoy the peace and quiet!

sorry total self indulgent moan, but i feel a little better now ive got it out!

trina2010 it's nice to have a moan sometimes. I used to get upset when my DH went away, but now I'm grateful as I can slob out and watch what I want. It also means I can eat what I want instead of having to cook proper food for the two of us!

I remember when I was about 36 weeks pregnant and he went off for the weekend for his best mate's stag do, I was a little nervous that DD might appear early, but needn't have worried she took so long at 41+3 that he could have flown back from Australia in the time it took her to travel the few inches into the big bad world!!

Big hugs to everyone feeling big and uncomfy.

After deciding I wouldn't go to the show, OH talked me into it (i think he is expecting something in return!) and I am so glad we did. Found the stall I wanted, had a good old play with the pushchair I wanted and bloomin' ordered one for a very knock-down price! Very very pleased with the price I paid :D Happy (but poorer) Lily :D

Good luck to everyone whos nearing the end, I hope things happen soon!

Yay I'm so pleased for you :) tbh I didn't really look at the prices of the prams so I wouldn't have been much help sorry! We watched the demo of the recaro babyzen as DH seemed amazed but we were trying to avoid the temptation of buying when we have a pram already! I noticed some things were good prices (some Moses baskets/ M&P bits/ etc but we didn't need any.

    Lovely bump Amus! X

Vic I am so pleased you have ordered your travel system, and what a bargain! It looks perfect. How are you getting on with buying other bits? It's an awful lot to buy first time around. How are you feeling? X

Hi chick. I'm fine pregnancy related thanks. Wish this sore throat would do one now! Bulk bought soothers as the ingredients suggest they are actually just sweets! How are you doing?

We picked that pram as it was just all so easy to fit together and figured that if it lasts for the two year guarantee, then we're happy. We're very lucky that my sister has a little boy and she has passed on cot, Moses basket, etc. to us. Just got to go through all the clothes and see what else we need! Are you all ready? X
