  • They say you can't rely on how a 'bump' looks.

However when I caught up with the 3 other ladies from antenatal class last Tuesday and told them all we were expecting a little girl the only other lady who had stuck with not finding out what she was having was then convinced hers was a boy.

She based it on the fact that she reckoned her bump looked far more similar to the other 2 ladies who are expecting boys and what do you know just heard from her as she had a planned c-section today and she had a boy.

Thanks for the replies re my 'free' question, appreciate it.

  • Had our growth scan today (32w +2) and all well, bump waved during the scan which was very cute! Then saw the consultant for the first time (again, all fine, baby has moved from breach to head down which is great) and then the diabetes nurse. Didn't even get to see the midwife. Next appointment is in 4 weeks for another scan.

Congrats Kandfs mam! And lovely bump pics ladies. Good luck to the ladies awaiting an appearance of baby shortly.

Congratulations Kandfs mam - beautiful name too!

My due date's nearly over and unless you count a sudden need to clean the house this afternoon there's been no sign at all of baby. Not surprised at all but I can't help but wonder how long the wait will be this time

Those of you nearly due/overdue and who know what you're having, have you sorted out names? We're really struggling this time around. We do have a name we both like but it's a bit 'out there' and DH's parents have made it clear that they absolutely hate it! For a long time I thought that was their tough luck but now I'm getting closer to the birth I don't know whether I can give my little boy a name that's caused such a strong opinion. Why is it people think they can be so rude with other people's choice of baby name? To top it off I've also managed to delete my short list from my kindle :o:rotfl:

Oh, re bumps. All my babies are boys. This time and with DS2 I've had a tidy all up front bump but with DS1 I looked like jabba the hut so don't really know. My pregnancies have been completely different too so I think really it's down to the baby themselves rather than their gender

MV - I've got bump envy..I'm bigger than that at 33 weeks!! In fact everyone looks so neat and lovely!! Thank you for the bunting link. I really like that and it's not expensive and not too boyish or girlish. I had a good look at work today and might order although we are not 100% sure on name so may get some after birth as it would be nice to personalise : )

Claree - Wow you'll be a mum tomorrow! How exciting and scary!! Lots of luck..hope everything goes smoothly and keep us posted!

Hope everyone is coping/getting by/feeling well. I went back to work today and had to go to disabled toilet to be sick in peace. I feel like I've got sickness just like in first trimester..bad taste, randomly getting hot and being sick and then been fine. I must admit I had a little tear in my eye because I am really struggling to have a wee at times as well.

I feel determined to get to my maternity leave and not bring it forward but it's tough going!!

Back onto nursery subject I have off white walls and going with a bluebird theme. So far I've found these which are so not MSE and I'd need 2 so on the hunt for something cheaper:

Bedding wise I had a struggle as a few people told me cot bumpers were a waste of time so I wanted to avoid them but all bales include them, lots of blankets are too small and you can scarcely buy a coverlet without buying the whole set. Instead I've gone boring and cot some cot size white cellular blankets, flat sheets and fitted sheets and I'm just going to go mental with accessories! I did read that cellular blankets are good because if baby did pull them over head they can still breath through them. Good for me as I am sooooo paranoid I just know I'll sit checking on baby all night long!

  • good luck Claree!

at what stage did people start to give up exercise? Pilates is getting harder and I'm getting more shortness of breath. Aqua aerobics is fine. I'm a regular exerciser. 32+6
  • Glad you like the bunting Bangton. I like mixing up the whole blue/pink thing. That named bunting is so cute too :)

Courgette - I'm so with you on being annoyed by people (parents) pulling faces at the names I like. It's totally disheartening, particularly as choosing a name is so difficult. My mum wants me to choose a 'classic' name, which is all well and good, and we do have 2 names in mind, one of which is a classic name but the faces she and my dad pulled at our other name really pee'd me off. At the end of the day, it's YOUR choice, and personally I'd even go as far to say that the person who spends nine months going through pregnancy and then having to give birth, IMO earns the right to the final say! :D

claree - very best of luck for tomorrow! Can't wait to see a pic!
