But is it normal for it all to go away? I feel fine now, no pains or anything.
  • yes..could have been some Braxton Hicks and your body just starting to get ready.

You're still a couple of weeks off aren't you?
Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,
You don't even take him seriously,
How am I going to get to heaven?,
When I'm just balanced so precariously..

I just don't think you can ever say with labour unfortunately.

With DS1 I had nothing and my labour just started in the middle of the night out of nowhere, with DS2 I had intermittent cramping and contraction like pain for about 2 weeks before he actually arrived!!

All you can do is wait and see if things progress.

Thanks :) It's a waiting game now, I suppose I don't have much else to do.

Lovely bump MV, I feel huge when compared with you!

Had the urge to finish packaging the hospital bags, try out the car seat, do food shopping and wash all of my pillows sine yesterday. So pretty much all ready now :)

Morning ladies and bumps! Lovely rainy day here. MV your bump is so neat you are so lucky lol

Good luck noangel, hopefully not much longer for you!

Happy due date courgette! I was so excited when I reached mine but it feels like a lifetime ago now :-)

And for me, still getting intermittent pains, similar to braxton hicks but they come a lot more suddenly and there are painless gaps between them so hopeful that this is the start of labour. They were worse last night and have settled down a bit this morning but still there but I think it's because of the sweep yesterday

Hubby has stopped work now, we figured this morning that we are due to be induced tomorrow morning anyway so it doesn't make much difference if he starts paternity leave a day early

Hope everyone else is well :-)

I've been wondering this too but not sure what policy is. Have my consultant appointment in about 3 weeks to get my date so will be sure to ask.

Then again not sure how my body will react? I remember shaking a lot with DS1 but I'm not sure if this was due to labour or the section or a mixture of both (I remember oh asking midwife why I was shaking when I was having contractions before I went down for a section). Needed a spinal after DS2 and didn't shake at all so who knows??

For some reason I envisage a planned section being a case of whisking the baby out and that's that. I think I'm forgetting your body is still essentially going through labour and I will still feel like I've been hit by a bus afterwards!! Having said that I'm still really scared!

I had the shakes after my EMCS with DS, apparently this is normal after labour be it vaginal or c section. I'm not too scared of the section, I was much more scared of another induction, which is why I planned for an elective section this time round. My philosophy is, I don't care what happens to me so long as the baby comes out ok (after experiencing baby getting in distress last time - terrifying). At least with a CS the baby is much more likely to be ok as it just needs to be pulled out and start breathing. They give you lots of painkilling drugs so you won't feel like you've been hit by a bus, and the high of finally meeting your baby will take the edge of any pain anyway!

    Happy due date Courgette!
Does anyone know by what stage baby should have turned around into the right position? I feel like I have been getting kicks mostly in the same spot up by my ribs for a few weeks now. Just wondering if its too early for him to be in the right position?

    30+6

At my last appointment I was 29 weeks and the midwife felt baby's head down low and spine to the right, she said it's in the right place now but could still move around a bit. I think it's in the same place still as I felt hiccups last night right where the top half of baby's back would be (lower right of my bump) if it's in that position still. hopefully they'll get in place and stay put for us!

Ohh exciting Baleb! Fingers crossed bubs arrives soon :)

Back on the nursery discussion, we are really struggling to find anything 'unisex' enough to last for more than one baby. I'm loving treasure island fabric in Laura ashley sale but it's definitely a lot more boy-ey. Any other team yellows out there that found a good theme for either? We are now looking into all kinds of animals...

We went for a woodland theme - wall stickers of trees, birds, hedgehogs, owls, deer etc. It's all very colourful, the animals are blue, pink, purple, yellow, etc, and unisex. I said we could always take off a few pink or blue animals in the end if we want to tailor it to be more girly or boyish.

Had the wc jab yesterday, was v concerned about side effects as I had tetanus, diptheria and polio jabs last year for my holiday and I'd heard that it can make you sicky if you have it close to another tetanus jab, but so far just an achy arm. Fingers crossed I get away without any side effects!

    Happy due date Courgette! X

Lovely bump MV I seem to look huge already (almost 25 weeks) x

I just feel exhausted. I've been like this for the past 2 weeks so drained :( I'd love an injection of energy!

Re: C sections I personally wouldn't fancy seeing anymore but I'm a bit squeamish. My last birth was natural but I think this one might be a section due to complications.
