I would also recommend a baby bath, we were given one by my aunt who had used it with a foster baby. She had always used the sink for babies but with new kitchen, double sink the actual bowl is smaller so she boughta baby bath. Personally I found the method for bathing a baby that midwiFe (and my mum) showed me near impossible. I struggled holding the baby and washing him too. Partly due to weakness after section- he was heavy! And partly because I am very uncoordinated at the best of times and babies are slippery when wet. At a few weeks old DS was supported and would happily splash the water all over us for fun, kicking legs and arms with glee. The one we have is same brand as IhateDida has suggested and is nice and compact. We bought a mama and papas ergo bath for friends a year earlier - that one was bigger as it has a toddler end so they used it til he was well past two. We bought a basic tub type from car boot sale when DS got too big for baby one as its so much quicker and cheaper than using our big bath. Only started using big bath as he turned two.

Oh i looove a bargain! Been looking for a good deal on the cosatto easi peasi changing table as my sister has one and its brill. Could not find it for under £100. Boots have it for £86, also bought car seat adaptor for the buggy we have at £30. £22 off this weekend if you spend over £100 on baby stuff, code for 10% off over £60 (JULY60 if anyones interested), 6% quidco and £11.50 of boots points as a member of baby club :D ended up paying £84 for both, so chuffed!

I didn't bother witha changing table, special nursery furniture or a baby bath!! She just came in with me or OH! They don't need bathing that often so we just did it at weekends when DH was home.

Nappies got changed on a mat on the bed/sofa/footstool or on my lap.

I have the cosatto easi peasi table as well but mine was secondhand for £28 in perfect condition from Ebay! I wouldn't be without it - soooo useful for storing nappies, towels, muslins - has a bath too but I like my tippitoes one as the built in seat makes life so much easier! I always put a muslin on top as its a bit cold for baby and also helps if she wees inbetween nappies being attached!!!

One other thing I would recommend is getting some black and white stickers - we have bought some from Ebay (but you could make and print off your own if you have time!) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/36-x-Black-and-White-Nursery-Dots-Wall-Stickers-/300654509921?pt=UK_Baby_Nursery_Wall_Decoration_EH&hash=item460067bf61#ht_1472wt_974 and they have been superb in amusing baby positioned on the wall next to the changing station! I am going to put some next to her cot when she is out of the moses basket! Apparently they help develop their sight but more importantly baby loves them - cooing and gurgling all the time!

Def recommed as well *unless* your going in the bath with them constantly but would still be alot of effort id imagaine..lol, I always take showers and my LO had his first big baby bath yesterday at 11 months :D Have to say he loved it but it does not feel safe at all...once he realised he could move about and slide around that was it lol I was really having to hold onto him to keep his head above water (wasnt deep enough for him to drown but still didn't want him dunking his head in and drinking the water which he also keeps trying to do even in the little bath)

Have to admit it would of been alot easier if I was in the bath with him lol
People don't know what they want until you show them.

No harm in them drinking bath water (unless they've poo-ed in it _pale_)!!

We've always showered with DD too - from about 3 months old. Not everyday, but it does them good to get them used to the feeling of it.
