    Hi all
Well after starting my first lot of bank charge claims in the middle of July - today MBNA has coughed up to the tune of £715. whoop whoop. Everything I asked for.
First letter with £10 cheque sent, second letter sent and I had a bit of a wait. But this morning the letter arrived.
Now how's this for a laugh - I tore open the envelope, read the first par which was a load of old cobblers about how they weren't at fault etc etc...it wasn't until I chucked the envelope and letter onto the table that the cheque wrapped behind the letter popped out....
Keep going peeps - if I can do it being number blind and dyslexic with numbers anyone can!
    Love Sassers x

    Claimed £5100
    Paid £1800

Many calls and letters over the past year and a half. Started hardship claim in April.

On the phone, a handler actually said: "The payment will be for hardship. Once the court case is finished, your claim will go back into the queue and you'll get the full sum back"

    Are the banks expecting defeat?

  • Hi, i wrote to lloyds tsb in june claiming approximately £800 charges. I tried to go down the hardship route. Maternity pay has now stopped and I receive £160 per month in child allowance and working tax credits combined.

I have no arrears with priority debts and have approximately £1500 debt with payday loans.

I am on a payment plan with them and pay about £120 per month to these various companies.

I am trying to claim from lloyds tsb.

Does anyone have any advice on how i could get them to look at my claim again or do i not qualify for hardship? the only 'debt' i have to lloyds is an overdraft of about £70 i pay at £7 every 4 weeks.

    Thank you in advance
Hit the thanks button if it helps!:T

My gut feeling says that they will say no but you need to write to them again and include an income and expenditure form for your household(they do accept moneyadvicetrust ones)

Furthermore you need to include notices of arrears as well.
I think no but it doesn't mean I am right all the time so ask them.
Do you have any historic credit card, catalogue or store cards that incurred charges?

I used the info on this site a little while ago now and found it was both spot on and brilliant. I'm coming back now to see if things have changed as I want to help a few people out.
  • Not even in the double figures, but credit where credit's due.
I recently switched to the Halifax's Reward Account for the £5 a month reward, not knowing about the £1 per day if I went over drawn.
Anyway, unusually for me I did go overdrawn without realising it for 7 days while on holiday last month. I transfered the money back in from savings and thought no more about it until seeing the £7 change this month.
So I made a quick phone call at 22:30hrs to the online support team and after explaining the situation and a short wait while the lady no doubt checked with her supervisor I was advised that the charge would be waived on this occasion and the money would be back in my account in a few days.
Now I can go for that curry this Friday.
