Hi all
Deus congratulations on your wedding, wishing you health and happiness for your marriage
Dusty healing vibes for your leg
dancemum & mumto5 hugs to you both
skint I hope everything is sorted with your ceiling etc soon
pigpen DD2 looks gorgeous - hope she has a lovely time
Very limited flying today, went to Ald! straight after the paid stuff. Came home and unpacked it, only a few bits left to sort then that's done.
Had words with next door (the side without dustbins) for parking one of their cars across my drive yet again. (the kerb has been lowered and white lines painted). I needed to get back to work and there was space to park across the road (the road is not that wide nor that busy, so not dangerous to cross the road). Every time I ask him not to park there, there is always some excuse 'I'm only going to be 20 mins' (he moved the car 2+ hours later). I was firm but polite with him (no swearing or name calling but was firm) and asked him to move his car and not to block my drive. He said I was being rude! My other next door neighbour was out there when it happened so I'm going to ask him if he thought I was rude.
But now I realise I'm sweating the small stuff again and I don't want to be that person. I'm pleased I stood up for myself (I'm not an assertive person and normally I'm a bit of a doormat) but at the same time I'm cross with myself for allowing something petty to upset me.
Here's hoping for a lovely sunny, warm weekend.

Skint, you are a quick-change artiste - Daisy has become Chicken Licken! So sorry to hear of your collapsed ceiling, and I hope you get all the help you deserve from the insurance companies. It's good to know that your EX was willing to help out.
Pigpen, your DD looks lovely. Hope she and dancemum's DS1 are each having a wonderful evening.
Huge congratulations to you and your DH, deus :T:T
Dusty, I hope your leg goes back to its normal size soon. I get bad reactions to bites too, and know the agony.
bossy, have you tried making up the word b-e-d with your little moos's letter cards and showing them how the b and d make the head and foot of the bed? You can do something similar with d-i-p where the piggy dips his foot in the waterbonnie_bumpkins wrote: »** SPECIAL 10 **
Where are you???
Please check in by the end of June with an update. Gold/silver/bronze stars will be awarded as appropriate.
Where to begin? This week has been manic! At one point yesterday we had 8 workmen in the house!!! This morning I managed to clear part of my old kitchen and put things away out of their boxes and into the utility room cupboards. Proper cleaning is impossible while the workmen are here, but I have swept up and wiped round once the dust has settled each day, so we're not exactly living in the Dust Bowl of Arizona, and I've managed to keep up with the washing. Late this afternoon I went and did a big shop at @ld1, and when I got home DH had hoovered the lounge carpet and moved the sofas :A so that we now have a room to relax in and where we can even offer visitors a proper seat. We have to wait about a month for a proper kitchen but it will happen in due course. I planned all the changes to the house on paper before we began, but now we can see how they are going to be in reality, and it's all looking just as good as I had hoped. We are blessed with some very good-humoured and adaptable workmen whose workmanship is of an extremely high standard. To sum it all up, we are tired but very happy with our new home:)
Tomorrow, "just for a change" we are going to help DS1who is doing the second fix on his own newly built house and has to have it ready to move into with his wife and 2 little girls at the beginning of August.

For any of you remembering the Naming Day gift dilemma I have bought a hardback copy of Winnie the Pooh. I book I had myself in childhood - I still have my (old and battered) paperback. It cost me (for I bought it myself in Seed and Gabbuts) 2/6!
I have wrapped it in tissue then, when it's being unwrapped, the paper cover shouldn't get damaged.
I don't know WHAT to write in the card though! Help!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Evening all
Ionafan, you sound like you are coping with the mess and chaos better than I am.
AF is due and I think the week is catching up with me. DH is real fed up too and has loads more to do over the weekend befre the plaster comes on Monday and doesn't seem best pleased.
I'm just going to put the wahing on the maiden and then collect DS2 from work.
Pigpen and Dancemum I hope they had memorable times at their proms. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Dear .....
It's a pleasure to be part of your naming day.
I hope you like the book, I have a copy of it myself and loved it as a child. I have still got my copy which I brought with my pocket money. I hope you enjoy it too.
With love
