How annoying Valli. Makes you not want to volunteer next year, especially when they are not bothered that you had not been informed.

I am annoyed too - the oven repair man has been and told me that there is nothing wrong with my oven and that it is right that it should take half an hour to heat up to 180 degrees, then take a further 20 mins to get back up to temperature when you put something in it. My last oven was the same spec and took 10 mins to heat up. I have just baked some cupcakes which went into a preheated oven of 190 degrees (temp I needed was 170), but when I checked on them 20 mins later the oven temp was about 120 degrees. Does this happen to anyone else? My oven is a 'multi-function' oven so has a fan in it but not actually classed as a fan oven, but my old oven was the same. Think I might be back to the shop to discuss an exchange because I am not happy with it at all.

Anyway, flying-wise - I did a HHC and cleaned the living room, but now I've made cupcakes the kitchen needs some attention!

Wish I could put washing out too but we have had nothing but rain all day so far and no signs of it stopping anytime soon.

That's ridiculous Sunnygirl. I would expect that with an old, clapped-out oven but not a new one (assuming yours is new).

Have you googled it or checked on manufacturer's website to see what claims they are making for it?

valli, i feel your annoyance, sometimes the more you do the less you are thought of.
sunnygirl cooker sounds faulty to me , i would expect it to be cooking way before those times, i will use loads of fuel taking that long to warm up surely.
back from work, DH fed and returned to work.

I've checked the website. Sports day is now Friday 12th July.

Someone is going to have to [STRIKE]beg[/STRIKE] ask very, very nicely ;):D

I've got a feeling my rescheduled dental appointment might be on that day;)

I'm sure you've mentioned something very important on that Friday, valli ;) But let him 'ask very nicely' a lot before you tell him...

Thanks Valli & Mrs MP. Yes, it is a new one - only bought it in March. Got it in John Lewis on the basis of their customer service so looks like it's time to put that customer service to the test!!

On the plus side, I have baked strawberry milkshake cupcakes, which smell lovely, although they took quite a while to bake!!

Re. the sports day - sounds like you may all of a sudden be extremely busy that day!!

Best go and do school run - got a busy few hours ahead. 2 extra children to collect & feed, school fair project to do with DD1 and friend and dance class to get to for DD2 and friend. Off I go....

Quick five-mins to myself before the next round of boring emails (mostly online surveys):money:

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Deus I wish you a long and happy life together.

Dusty I hope that bite goes down quickly - sounds narrrrsty - like a horsefly bite I had, some years ago.:(

Skinty sounds like you've had the night from hell.:(

TMD I hope you can get your fuel bill sorted soonest - I see the rep has posted; I should take up their offer of emailing, if I were you.;)
Fwiw, E-on have just put us up from £91 to £99 per month, for duel-fuel. I'm home the whole time, and in poor health, so the heating is on more than a lot of homes; I try to use the WM at night, but can't do this if I have a K9 sleeping in the kitchen, and I use the TD as little as I can, but if it's bedlinen or bath towels, I do tumble them if the weather's wet, as we don't have space for large wet items; I also have quite a few electric gadgets to help me with my disabilities - eg a bath lift, a mobility scooter which has to have batteries charged with leccy, and (latest acquisition) a wax bath for my paws.We don't have a DW, however.:o We use a bath of water each morning (kept shallow, and shared,;) as I need assistance anyway) but I quite often have a bath at night too, as it's the best way of getting the "squeakies" as I call it out of my back.:o

OK, these 16 remaining emails aren't going to read themselves. Once more into the breach, dear friends.....:rotfl:
