Karma Fairy stopped me getting a parking ticket - forgot to display my resident permit for about an hour but I wasn't spotted!

Been to buy Winnie the Pooh (hardback) for the baby whose naming I'm going to tomorrow.

HB, so sorry BeeTee didn't take a more sympathetic route for you in your time of need.

I worked on both the Faults and Customer Service Team for my former employer, there were occasions where I got the appropriate priority services form faxed to the appropriate Dr and back again within the hour, thereby allowing the proper tick in the box to happen so an engineer could be booked as Priority........if you get the right person on the phone, things DO happen....the moral of the story is "escalate, escalate, escalate"

On the flip side with shocking regularity, I did have fraught parents demanding emergency repair of their cable TV as PRIORITY......I never said it, but there was a little Skint sitting on my shoulder saying "read a book, play a game, spend time with them.....one day you will wish you had!";)

    Ah, those were the days......

Anyway back to flying......the Approved Carpet Team are sending assessor on Tues :eek::eek: DD1 is going to be routed to the spot to let them in, I have checked to make sure that I was ok to do a good clear up and move the damaged rugs to a more secure location out of DS and DD4's way.

DD3 has fed DW, but I still need to get kitchen straight for tomorrow

I am trying to get DS down to sleep for the night ( he missed his nappy and is furious tonight) then I can get some serious flying done before my Aunt arrives tomorrow

DD4's Pampers nappy has leaked for second time in two days, I was trying to give myself a break from my washables while I have had so much going on, but I have just created more washing for myself....so she is back in her washables again :(

Right time to get this boy of mine to sleep, otherwise I will be asking for Paul McKenna's phone number :rotfl:

  • ARGH!!!!!!! Just done a massive post to update and thank you all for taking the time to answer my electricity queries and the PC crashed.

    The jist of it was

Skint - :A - Your post was wonderful and I can't believe you took the time and care to help me when all around you the walls are tumbling in, literally. How are you all? What a wonderful Ex to come and help in your hour of need. I shall indeed take onboard all your advice.

I have been at work all day with no access to a telephone but I did manage to speak to someone tonight and they agree that the numbers just aren't right. Between 7am and 7pm today, my units have gone up 50+. In the last 18 days, the units are reading over 300. He's going to call me again on Monday morning and take another reading with a view to an Inspector coming out to see if the meter is faulty and perhaps replace it. Told me not to panic and don't make any payments until it has been resolved. A very nice man :j

Who else did I "chat" to.

Bossy - the letters b, p and d are the 3 that my DD had problems with and apparently it is very common. She also used to do her 5's backwards for about 3 years, but now she is a bit of a boffin, so all was well in the end.

Dancemum and Pigpen - calming, good dry weather vibes for your children tonight.

LW - thank you for your post.

Honey Bear - your tale about the telephone box was so sad. It's funny how things stay with you, isn't it, even from times long gone?

Pigpen - DD looks so lovely - and slim!

    My mind has gone blank.

Oh, David from Scottish Power - thank you for replying. It's being looked into, however thanks for your advice and I will indeed email if I need to. I did find an 0800 number so it wasn't too inconvenient.

No doubt when I hit submit, something will flood back to me.

Other than paid stuff today the only flying has been this large electricity frog, but it looks like it will be a buffet to revisit and chew in small chunks, rather than gobbled up in one sitting.

Once again, thanks for all your input and sorry for hogging the thread with non-flying stuff. It has really been getting me down and I needed a different perspective. Cheers guys :A
