Got a little bit of "bling" yesterday from Claire's - a watch & a bracelet. Still need to get a necklace & earrings & hair stuff etc plus my daughter's stuff.
There is a silk flower wholesaler's near me that I've had one look in already & going to go back to in the Easter holidays to see if I can get table decorations from & also maybe stuff to do invites with. It sells quite a range of stuff.
Also trying to decide on songs to be played before the ceremony at the hotel but not really sure how many songs we'd need before my entrance etc or even the best way to go about doing it i.e. ipod or cd etc.

Sounds like everyone's plans are coming along nicely!

I've been determined to make some progress this week, so far I have:
    - Booked hair and makeup lady
    - Bought super cute personalised favour boxes for the children at the wedding
    - Bought lots of toys/games/sweets to keep them entertained
    - Bought prints of the lyrics of our first dance to display at venue
    - Organised my flowers (buying brooch bouquets from a lovely local lady!)
    - Chosen fonts for invitations/stationery (I'm making everything myself) and started to sort out designs for table numbers, placecards etc.

    Still to do this week:
    - Organise evening entertainment
    - Phone registrar and book in an appointment to give notice
    - Sort out adults favours (I'm making these so going to make a start tomorrow hopefully!)
    - Speak to bridesmaids about their hair so I can buy accessories if needed

So had a pretty productive week so far, just need to keep the momentum up for the next few days :) shouldn't be much more to do after that, just suits and rings really!

    Hi Long Tall Sally

Have you checked with your venue about songs? Ours gave us a really handy checklist and it mentioned that we need 4 songs, 1 for bridal entrance, 2 for signing the register and a final one for bride & groom exit and we have to supply them in the required order on CD.

I'm actually starting to feel a bit queasy now, I've done nothing since my last post on this thread

I need to sort out day invitations but I can't get my head round the printing side of things. Plus cos they're DIY, I'm worried about buying a ton of stuff for them to then look really naff and being a big waste of money. Think I just need to bite the bullet and get stuck in! :o

Six months to go! How's everyone coming along?

    My still-to-do list:

    - Invitations. I have made up mock ones and sent them to my mum who will hopefully be able to use them as models
    - Rings. Going to hopefully go up to Hatton Garden next month and get some quotes, as I think I might need a customised ring because of how my engagement ring is shaped
    - Make-up artist. This is the thing that's driving me a bit nuts at the moment as they all seem to be booked up or really expensive!
    - Hairdresser. I've found the one I want but just need to book it
    - My accessories. I've seen a pair of red sparkly shoes I love and some beautiful pearl drop earrings so will order those next month, and am currently deciding what to have in my hair
    - Bridesmaids' accessories
    - Ushers' shirts and ties (they're wearing their own suits)
    - Gifts for parents/bridesmaids/ushers
    - Decide on starter and veggie option for meal
    - Decide what to do about wedding cars
    - Order bags for favours and stuff to make confetti packs

 That looks like loads! And I'm sure there's stuff I've forgotten...

    Hi all!
Yay Minerva, we are on 174 days now...well under 6 months!
We sent out most of our invites this weekend. mum had a couple of RSVPs already :D Very exciting - but I am thinking after the deadline is when it will get annoying trying to chase people! We have given people 2 months but...!!!

    Our next jobs:

    Table decorations
    Finalising music for ceremony
    Accessories
    Presents

Minerva hopeyou find a make up artist soon.

How is it going for everyone else too?X

    Hi all!

Just over 6 months to go for me, eeeek!!!

Not done anything really since I last posted, really need to get my act together and tick off the last few big things such as entertainment and giving notice. Have talked about it a lot with OH but no actual progress made so am going to give myself a kick up the bum and get cracking!

Have done a few small bits such as buying OH a few extra presents for on the day (I'm making up a little gift bag for him with a personalised hip flask, socks, cufflinks etc.) and have chosen the gifts I'm going to get for bridesmaids, best man and usher.

So list of things left to do looks something like this:
    • Book evening entertainment
    • Buy gifts for bridesmaids/best man/ushers/mum/future mum-in-law
    • Give notice
    • Organise suits for groom, best man and ushers (OH meant to be doing this but will need my assistance or it will never get done!)
    • Book honeymoon
    • Sort out giftlist
    • Make and send invitations
    • Buy rings
Feeling fairly organised until I look at it all written down and then I descend into panic again!!

Hope everyone else's plan are going well :j

Does anyone else feel like they're getting nothing done, even though they are steadily getting things bought/booked in/organised???

I'm the queen of lists but even that isn't helping me right now, most things just feel "provisionally" booked (although most have been secured with deposits) and I feel like I'm in some sort of no-man's land between the first flurry of excitement/booking stuff and the last blast of final decisions and balances being paid!

Perhaps because we did quite a lot in the few weeks following the engagement I've left myself with too little to do now? The invitations are going out soon so that will probably help!

I feel like I've suddenly hit a burst of 'get wedding stuff done' - in the past couple of days I've booked the car, the hairdresser and the make-up lady! Don't know if it's just the fact that it's getting closer now that's finally given me a kick up the bum to get on with stuff...

Yay well done...well, 5 months to go this weekend.....EEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKK!

We sent out our invites 3 weeks ago (I know it's a while to go but we thought, surely most people will know if they are coming or not) so far, very disillusioned with how many people have not responded!!!!! Pretty much all our friends we know will come, however it's families where we have no idea!!!!
